Sean Penn Praised by Venezuela's Chavez
Sean Penn Praised by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez for Critical Stance Against War in Iraq
By IAN JAMES Associated Press Writer
CARACAS, Venezuela Aug 2, 2007 (AP)
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has praised Sean Penn for his critical stance against the war in Iraq, saying the two chatted by phone and soon plan to meet in person.
Chavez said Penn traveled to Venezuela this week wanting to learn more about the situation in the country and walked around some of Caracas' poor barrios on his own.
"Welcome to Venezuela, Mr. Penn. What drives him is consciousness, the search for new paths," Chavez said Wednesday in a televised speech. "He's one of the greatest opponents of the Iraq invasion."
Chavez read aloud from a recent open letter by Penn to President Bush in which the actor condemned the Iraq war and called for Bush to be impeached, saying the president along with Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice are "villainously and criminally obscene people."
The socialist president, who shares those views, said he and Penn talked by phone "with my bad English but we understood each other more or less."

And now (I'm watching FOX), a bunch of Hollywoodians are condemning Penn's visit. Not because he's buddying-up with an America-hater, you understand, but because it "give conservatives material for their assertions that Hollywood is unpatriotic." :rotflmbo:
Keeping up appearances. That's all these bastards care about.

Of course! All these clowns know is how to look and sound good, and play pretend.
The fawning of the stupid (e.g., people who subscribe to People Magazine), along with the million-dollar salaries deludes them into thinking that they possess some transcendant wisdom.

I hate People Magazine. I wouldn't use it to wrap yesterday's garbage. Whenever I go to the doctor and I see that garbage lying around, I feel like puking. Watching paint dry would be better than reading that celebrity-ass-kissing pamphlet.
Did I mention that I hate People Magazine? :D

Did anyone warn Hugo what happened to his buddy Saddam shortly after Sean Penn Spicoli went to Baghdad to kiss his ass?

Maggie, I am somewhat in agreement with you! What is required is a constitutional amendment removing the right to vote to any purchaser of those magazines currently purveyed at grocery checkout lanes. They are not rational and should be legally barred from expressing their opinions in any matter affecting the operation of a government. They should get a life instead of daydreaming fantasies! Who on earth really cares about a Paris Hilton, Lindsey Lohan, etc... ad infinitum? If they had a head on their shoulders, they would be asking, "where in the hell are the parents of these immature idiots?" They are young, dumb, semi-literate and are qualified to set standards for our youth? Parents, Get Real! They must all be democrats since it is all about the bucks ($$$$$), not about morality, ethics or rationality.
Ask any one of them that threatened to leave the country if Bush was either elected or re-elected, why didn't they honor their promise to leave the country? Obviously a total lack of integrity, and that is honored in Hollyweird!

HA!:D
What is it about these Hollywood activist types that makes them totally blind to the ridiculous image they portray when they make these high-profile group hug visits with America's enemies?
Are Sean Penn and Danny Glover really so stupid as to think Chavez is a kindred spirit in their fight for world peace?
Do these morons actually believe Chavez has a burning concern over the war in Iraq?
Will they one day wake up and realize that they were used like whores in Chavez' campaign to embarrass the US government at any cost?
This is just one more story that proves how little intelligence is required to be a Hollywood star... Apparently acting skill isnt even a requirement anymore...

NO.

Quite. All "actors" have to be able to do is parrot the lines written by somebody usually more intelligent, though less well-paid, than them.
As for acting skill, that is definitely not necessary anymore. As long as these so-called actors and actresses screech their hatred and intolerance for conservatives - and insult them on a daily basis, for good measure -the "Academy" will make sure they get their golden statuette in due time.

And the demunist party will lose its entire constituency. Brilliant! :thumb:

...As long as these so-called actors and actresses screech their hatred and intolerance for conservatives - and insult them on a daily basis, for good measure -the "Academy" will make sure they get their golden statuette in due time.My interest in that annual farce is only superceded by my interest in the latest events of American Idol... Now, if you dare, ask me how much I care about American Idol...
One of the few actors I truly ever admired was George C Scott... They tried to give hime one of those golden cupie dolls and he didnt even show for the ceremony - He told a reporter that he didnt believe in "competition" among actors... One of his more tactful responses...:D
I miss George... sniff...

Something tells me you care for that mind-erasing idiocy as much as I do. In short: you don't. :thumb:

Maria Conchita Alonso, who was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela was just on O'Reilly and kinda ripped ol' Sean a new one...basically said (in not so many words) that he was a moron.
It was quite entertaining.
