It has been almost a year since Ive posted, and for obvious reasons. I was struck by a car several months ago while jogging and everyone in the medical commuinty thought that I was a goner...they forgot about the fact that ive got a lot of good friends cheering for me and that ils enought to allow for a good man to come back. Well it happend. I am now 70 yrs old and i dont have as much strenth as before, but i feel young and my mind is sharp and i have a whole new outlook on life. ive never gotten involved in politics beyond talking with the fine folks of freeconservatives, but this year i think i will do some real work....james inhoffe has a real challenge in 08 for his seat and i plnan to help hem a lot .
thanks guys....
sorry if this message isnt perfect, i have to take some pain pills and they make me feel better but arent the best thing for typicng right!
That is an amazing story Bold_Fighter. I'm very happy you've made such a great recovery. The lord guided you back to strength, and I'm sure he did it for a reason. Good luck in your political endeavors this year. I wasn't around when you used to post, but I look forward to posting with you.

the funniest thing about it all is that my right arm does not bug me as much as it use to. Most people on the board recall that I pitched for the minnesota twins for 8 years and my rotator cuff was torn in 67 causing me to retire and then join the forces for the vietnam war...well, since the accident i havent noticed any problems with my arm! i think that the things that use to bother me before dont bother me as much now because i am alive more than ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome back, Bold! You are now unofficially, like me, a member of the Near-Death Experience Club.

Best wishes here as well. I came uncomfortably close to joining that Near-Death Club myself a week shy of my 50th when I was riding a bike to work and was struck by a car back in January.
Major league pitcher? Cool! I've got baseball cards going back that far. Is it possible I have yours?

Welcome back. Glad you're on that road to recovery. As for the shoulder, maybe the force of the accident caused the spine to realign itself. I don't know if you've ever been to a chiropractor or believe in that kind of treatment or not.
Great to have you back!

Its good to know that you're going to be OK.I feel your pain (almost). My wife was hit by car on Dec.9 2005.She is still not 100% but she is alive. The thing she wanted to do most was get back to work (of all things)she says that makes her feel better.

BoldFighter,
Praise the Lord, He's still in the miracle business! Am so glad that things are going well for you now. When we go through such traumatic events, unfortunately it takes something like that to refocus our attentions and priorities. Will continue to pray for your recovery. I know whatever endeavors you take on, you'll have a new vision for. Take care of yourself, first and foremost, visit as often as you can, we'll be holding the fort so don't worry.
Many Blessings,
Hms

Looking forward to reading your posts, but, the Doc said, don't push yourself. And those are doctor's orders, mind. :)

Hey fellow Okie we need to get in touch. I didn't know you had been injured, I'm sorry. What's this about Inhofe being in for a struggle?
God Bless for continued healing.

Welcome back. I'm glad that you have recovered.
Back when I was jogging (I had to quit 2 1/2 years ago, at age 72, when I hurt my back), several years ago I was jogging on a street less than a block from our house when a driver swerved his car intentionally towards me. Fortunately, I was able to jump over the curb into a neighbors yard to avoid being hit. That was the closest call I ever had in more than 30 years of jogging (over 23,000 miles).

Praise the Lord, BF!! The '67 Twins had a pretty good year, if I remember correctly. Must have been something to be a part of it!! I can't imagine playing with Killebrew, Carew, Quilici, Uhlander, Tovar, Oliva, Allison, Kaat, Chance, etal...
Welcome back...glad the shoulder isn't bothering you anymore...maybe you could take Nesheck's place in the bullpen.
