The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Hey, it's a western, but there are some tremendous Civil War scenes in it.

Sounds like a popularity contest run by snobs. What did "To Be or Not To Be" or "Cabaret" really have to do with war? In both, Nazis were the backdrop for stories about "show folk". "The Caine Mutiny" was an excellent film, but it was more a courtroom drama than a movie about war. "Mr. Roberts" a war picture?

I did like:

2 Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)

16 Vita è bella, La (1997) (Life is Beautiful (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0118799))
17 All Quiet on the Western Front (1930)
18 Stalag 17 (1953)
19 Bronenosets Potyomkin (1925) (Battleship Potemkin (http://us.imdb.com/Title?0015648), a communist polemic).
20 Braveheart (1995)
21 Patton (1970)
32 Henry V (1989)
35 Aleksandr Nevsky (1938)
42 Sergeant York (1941)
