Fred Phelps looks pretty weak on the whole "love your neighbor" thing. For someone who claims to represent God, it is an important omission. Of course, this applies to everyone in some degree.

God's word is pretty clear clear about how Phelps, and all of us, should be treating our neighbors, and even our enemies. The Lord thought this important enough to repeat it.

Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the LORD. (Leviticus 19:18)

If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink:For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee. (Proverbs 25:21-22)

“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ “But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. “For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Fred Phelps, and all his hysterical minions, are the devil's work. Their haterd and arrogance has nothing, NOTHING to do with Christianity. Period. :flame:

This PoS gives liberals all the ammo they need, and then some, to decry Christianity as a religion of hate. Try telling them that he is just a nutcase who does not speak for Christians and see how far that takes you.
