I really was bored today, so I decided to share with you what school I go to.
<img src="http://www.acsk12.org/media/images/ACS_arial_piccropped.jpg" width="608" height="329" />
I go to the Academy of Charter Schools, and I'm somewhere in that picture, I know, I should've gotten enough sleep the night before.
My top 3 things that I like about this school:
1: I like the band, my teacher, Mr. K, is very funny and interesting.
2: I like the atmosphere
3: I like SOME of the teachers.
My top 10, yes, 10 things that I hate about this school:
1: 50% of the teachers are Libtards.
2: The way they handle bullying is a total joke.
3: 75% of the Junior High kids think that they're in High School.
4: Everyone has a MySpace, I don't do that, I don't see the need.
5: Everyone's bitching about Bush.
6: They consider Global Warmth part of Geography.
7: They let gays and lesbians kiss, but when it comes to straight kissing, they yell at you.
8: You can't argue with the teacher.
9: All the kids aren't willing to learn
10: If you're a Conservative, you either hide your politics, or die a political death.
So, what school did you go/graduate/leave?

I sure hope you're in one of the back rows.
Can't hardly remember my schools. Too long ago.

It's like this. If people see a dog rubbing against a person's legs,
it's no big deal. But when people see normal things, like heteros
engaging in something that may lead to sex, then it is frowned
upon. Nobody pays attention to what animals do. That's my take
on that. Or, your school is filled with flaming fruits who condone
that type of behavior.

I grew up in the western part of Morris County, in northwestern New Jersey. I started out going to one of the local elementary schools (all of them are named for presidents, and mine was called Jefferson). Fifth grade was my last year in public school. Mom put me and my brother in a Christian school after that. I went there from sixth grade till I graduated from high school (1981). My parents made me take all of the college prep classes, so in high school I had two years of typing, two years of mechanical drawing, all the math courses except calculus, and all of the science courses except Bio II. There were five math and five science courses in four years of high school. Go figure.
I kind of liked the school, considering it was a school. :) It was called Parsippany Christian School, run by the Parsippany Baptist Church. It was actually attached to the church, and we used the church sanctuary for chapel. It was a 14 mile trip for my mom to drive us to school each morning, but sometimes we joined up with other kids we knew from church and Sunday School who also went there.
When you got in trouble there you got demerits. I never got any. There was a deli next door where some of the kids went after school to buy chips or Doritos. There was no cafeteria, but there was a 35¢ soda machine. We always had to bring our own lunches. Back in the Jefferson School, lunch was 40¢, extra bread and butter was 10¢, an extra milk was 10¢, and an ice cream sandwich was 10¢.
Anyway, in the Christian school, there was no violence (at that time I never heard of such a thing), and no drugs, till one day the principal caught all three of his own sons with pot in school.
There were aproximately 20 kids in each grade in that school, give or take. But in my senior class there were only 12, and only 11 graduated.

I started out in a private school, we moved then it was public school for the rest of my years.
Of course, my children, well I think we all know what school MY children go to, :smirky:. They LOVE their teacher AND their principal ... they don't always LIKE them, though,

I hope you're joking.
I don't think it's a joke... but inconsistent enforcement of PDA rules can have many reasons besides someone deciding "gay kiss=ok, straight kiss=bad"... some teachers just don't care, some are sticklers... could be the wrong teachers were around at the time.
Granted, I wasn't there... pure speculation on my part.

Morristown? I remember us driving through it on occasion, and I'm sure we must have visited the Morristown National Historical Park. I remember eating at the Library (a restaurant) there once.

As for #7, this is utterly bullshit. The 'Board' wouldn't put up with it, the 'Council' wouldn't put up with it, and 'parents' who heard about it would be in such a snit, that that would have been stopped long ago.
Sorry, TR, but you have to find something else to HATE your school for. This is bullshit and you know it.

:moo: I graduated from the same high school as Queen of Rock & Roll Janis Joplin & former Dolphins head coach Jimmy Johnson. It was really a great school.
 "Was". I went back years later as a teacher, & it had become an academic quagmire. I was expected to give passing grades to students who were several years below grade level, & not putting forth any effort to bridge the gap. Mercifully, dear old Thomas Jefferson High School was put out of its misery in 2002, as it was merged with two other schools.

Where Beo went to H.S.: http://www.brhsms.org/
You will notice the sillouette of former president, Calvin Coolidge, in the site. Well, he graduated from the school WAAAAY back when so yes, I graduated from the same H.S. as a former president. Our teams are "The Presidents."
BTW, I graduated back in 1987.
2: The way they handle bullying is a total joke.
Deal with a bully.....fight back. They can't handle it when you do.
Everyone's bitching about Bush.
Well that's half-of America.
They consider Global Warmth part of Geography:rolleyes:
They let gays and lesbians kiss,
I'm not surprised.
but when it comes to straight kissing, they yell at you.
That's easy! My girl friend, who is now my wife, was from another school. For those who dated within the school, a ''no kissing" rule never stopped them.

Well then, you've obviously never been to my school. This isn't Bullshit, 60% of the school children is on my side of the story.
The parents, board, and council ever hear about it from the teachers who do see it. Why? I don't have a clue.
The board, council, and parents think that they have stopped the issue, but it still continues. Teenagers, or "kids", are born to break rules. When this rule was made, it was broken by the "kids". In fact, the children of the parents, board, and council are mainly the ones doing it.
I've tried to report them, but they won't stop. In fact, one year when I was a Student Council Member, I tried to enforce Hall Moniters to catch the ones doing it. Of course, the school refused my idea and said that they're taking care of it.
I even tried telling them that the kissing rule was a bad idea, but they didn't listen. It's like Gun Control, but, it's Kissing Control or something. These people have security CAMERAS hooked up at every corner, you would suspect that the kissing would stop for fear of being caught, but it doesn't. My opinion is that the cameras aren't even working and/or aren't hooked up.

That's what I do, and I got suspended three times for fighting someone back. It's really up to the bully, if they throw the first punch at me, then there's going to be hell. I think I get suspended because I get them more then they got me.

Which kind of kissing doesn't stop? Have the rules been more successful stopping heterosexual kissing than stopping gay kissing?

My advice to you would be, that if the school will not punish the bully, then (after defending yourself) report them to the police for assault, and inform local news outlets at the same time.
Schools are afraid of attention, and evening news loves this kind of story.
"Are your kids being attacked at school? Some parents say the school refuses to protect the students. Story at 11!"

My dad went to a school that had stabbings and crap every week. It was never reported on the news. I'm not saying it won't work, it just brought up something in my memory.

I never got suspended for any of the fights I had as my step-mom was a teacher at the school. I DID spend alot of time after school in detention halls though. Still, no one ever picked a fight with me more than once! For me, that was worth it.

The guys that pick fights with me are retards, they are trying to prove that they can beat me up. So, when they actually try, I beat them up very badly. They try because I'm 6'4 and in 8th grade, and because I didn't join the popular people.
I would hate being popular, I don't want to turn into one of them.

I have taken the proper steps, don't worry. Nobody's going to come for me, if they do then they're going to have to deal with my baby (shotgun).

You aren't going to have your gun at school. Don't underestimate people. Any groups or clubs you are a member of if you mention them online and they already know what school you attend it's as simple as getting a copy of that school's yearbook and finding one kid that's a member of or attended things you mention online. You need to be careful, the graveyard is full of kids who think one thing or another could never happen to them.
At your age it's best to be as private as you can when you are online. Just remember you never know who you are REALLY talking to.

I had kids in school try me for different reasons. Once they find out someone is in a martial arts class, they just have to try you. Fortunately, there were a few of us enrolled so I didn't have to pound them all.

It was the same at my school(public school system) before I switched to ultra-conservative methodist school this year.
And yeah ive never had to deal with bullying cause im a six foot 250-pound ex-football player. Though i guess if you looked at my friends you might call them the popular crowd though i dont think of them that way.
