I don't know all the technical directions, but I just click in (not at the beginning or end, but in the middle) the link itself and type what I want it to say, then delete the words before mine and after mine, leaving my words as the link. Don't know if that helps or not, though, i am on AOL, so I use the bookmark link to drag it from the page to the post. It may be different if you use the "Insert Link" button on the post tool bar.
