ATLANTA — An NAACP leader said Michael Vick (http://javascript<b></b>:siteSearch('Michael Vick');) should be allowed to return to the NFL, preferably the Atlanta Falcons, after serving his sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation.

"As a society, we should aid in his rehabilitation and welcome a new Michael Vick (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,294149,00.html#) back into the community without a permanent loss of his career in football," said R.L. White, president of the group's Atlanta chapter. "We further ask the NFL, Falcons, and the sponsors not to permanently ban Mr. Vick from his ability to bring hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country."

Vick should pay with time in jail and hefty fines.

However, he abused, tortured, and killed dogs. I don't believe this warrants wrecking his entire future.

As for playing in the NFL. It is a private enterprise. I see no problem with them banning Vick.

I don't get it when people say things like that. "Let him prove he's learned from his mistake." The only way Michael Vick can prove he's learned not to kill dogs is by.....not killing dogs anymore. He should already know this. Not killing dogs isn't a behaviour that has to be learned, you just assume that people know its wrong. If they don't ban him for the dogfighting, they should ban him for being an idiot.

An earlier post nailed it. If Vick were white, they wouldn't care in the least. The NAACP wants him to continue to make million$ in the NFL for one reason: he's black.

An excellent point, Vick is displaying sociopathic behavior. I would almost guarantee he got his jollies from harming those dogs more so than the actually fighting. He is a sick person who regardless of race needs to be put away so he doesnt harm a human being. My first instinct was to start a rant on the credibility of this group of retards but why bother preaching to the choir. However with that being said I will be waiting anxiously to see what the sentence is to watch one group of Democrats (PETA) protest another group of Democrats (Blacks) on this issue. That's what Confucian law was all about in China. According to Confucian law it was considered a violation to turn your family into the authorities, especially the father, if they stole the neighbor's goat or murdered someone.
