Harlem Residents Outraged by Sale of Major League Baseball Caps With Gang Colors

NEW YORK — Official Major League Baseball caps blatantly featuring colors and symbols for some of America's deadliest street gangs are turning up on store shelves in Harlem, MyFOXNY.com reported Friday.

It's a little naive for the MLB spokesperson they talked to to say that they weren't aware that the caps could be associated with gangs and gang colors. Look at the pictures of the damn caps, you don't see Wall Street types wearing a yankees hat with a red bandana pattern on it.

Regardless of that, the outcry should be over the presence of gangs in the area, not whether or not the caps appeal to the gang members. Even if they stop making the caps, there's plenty of other things they'll wear instead. The problem is that the gangs are in the neighborhood, they should worry about that before trying to attack what is just a mere clothing item.
