FOX News Poll: Bush Approval Up; Nearly Half of Americans Think Surge Helped in Iraq
Thursday, September 13, 2007

By Dana Blanton

NEW YORK — The latest FOX News poll shows that while President Bush’s job rating remains low and a majority of Americans disapproves of his performance, his approval rating is up this week to its highest level in five months. Today 37 percent of Americans say they approve of the job Bush is doing, up from 33 percent last month, and 58 percent disapprove.

In addition, approval of Congress also increased: 32 percent of Americans approve, up from 24 percent in August, and 56 percent disapprove.

As Americans traditionally begin to focus more on political and public policy issues after the Labor Day holiday, several factors could contribute to this up-tick in approval. First and foremost it could simply be that more Americans like what they see and are giving leaders in Washington a thumbs up. In addition, the poll was conducted during a week that saw many events that could have created a patriotic "rally effect."...http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296712,00.html

Funny how Congress numbers go up a bit when they put out some, even though luke warm support, for the surge. Nancy Botox and that traitor Reid shut up for a while and the numbers inch up. No talk from Barney Frank, and the numbers go up. I wonder what the polls will show of Dennis Kucinich next time?

Well, I guess the dems should thank Bush for their improved ratings. After all, if Bush was responsible for their previous low ratings, as they claimed, then he must also be responsible for this improvement. And it must be true, since Republican approval of Congress went up 12 points, while democrat approval of Congress only went up 8 points. They must be pissed that the surge is working.

Obama and McCain have a higher approval rating than Hillary, but Hillary still leads Obama election-wise.

Thompson's ratings went up. Rudy's did too, but not as much as Thompson's. 27% percent say they haven't heard of Thompson, so I expect his numbers will go up even further when he gets more exposure.

The numbers for withdrawal from Iraq are a bit disturbing though.

The only reason Bush had any effect on their low ratings was because they refused to stand up to hiim. To be honest, I probably have less approval for the Democrats in Congress than I do for Bush. I expect him to do things I disagree with; I had higher hopes for them.

Ya know what really bugs me? As W lays out plans to start bringing troops home, Democreeps will take credit for it, especially if, God forbid, one wins the White House.

This poll only reflects the perceived improvement in Iraq under the surge - despite the constant doom-and-gloom defeatism of the Deniers.

Americans want success in the war and the economy. They also want secure borders and control of illegal immigration, for which I will never trust or approve of Bush's performance.

...Americans want success in the war and the economy. They also want secure borders and control of illegal immigration, for which I will never trust or approve of Bush's performance.Add my vote to this sentiment... If I had been polled by Fox News, I would be counted in the "Disapprove" column... Bush's betrayal on the illegal immigrant fiasco was not a moment of weakness or bad judgement that he regrets having made - nothing like what his daddy did on the tax pledge...

On the contrary, Bush still fights to force his will on this betrayal down our throats... He has refused to construct the fence that Congress approved money for... We have not seen the last of this betrayal... I predict he will make another thrust to push his plan thru, probably when the nation is deeply distracted with the Presidential campaign...
