I just realized that The Magnificent Seven has a message for today's society and the war. The movie is about seven gunslingers who help a village of desperate Mexicans fend off these robbers/gangs. Compare this to the war on terror.
We're over there, risking our lives, to help Iraqies fend off from terrorists. I was just thinking, why didn't the gunslingers get called home (or pony expressed) and stop the fight on people who did nothing to you?
I have the answer, it's because they are heroes helping some people out for the purpose of helping. Now I know why my brother hates that movie so much (he's a Liberal).
I highly recommend this flick. It has Steve McQueen, and he shoots stuff, so it is good. It is a classic western movie, with an awesome gun fight near the end. I think I now know the reason why all my Liberal friends hated this...with a passion!
