FAYETEVILLE, N.C. – A police officer is accused of burying puppies alive, officials said.

Seven puppies were rescued from Officer John Leggett’s backyard. Leggett, 44, has been charged with animal cruelty and is now on administrative leave while under investigation.

We just lost our THIRD dog last Friday -- we lost Taffy in June to tainted dog food (YouTube - In Memory of Taffy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_JuGMC3DO0)), and our Holly passed away Sept. 6 (my daughter's birthday! - YouTube - Remembering Our Holly (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNgQJEJSAwU) ). Last Friday (Sept 14) one of our twins (the pups) was HEARTLESSLY killed by a hit and run driver (YouTube - UGA's Tribute (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3Q8nNg-ruM)). My husband and I are both 44 years old (same age as this garbage), and then THIS PIECE OF TRASH tries to kill a litter of pups simply because they aren't PUREBRED?!!!!

What is HAPPENING to the decency, compassion, and heart of this country? We've got football stars who make oodles of money fighting and torturing dogs, POLICE OFFICERS killing puppies for NO (good -- like there IS a good one!) reason! I'm truly beginning to loose hope for humanity. :sad:

Hundreds of thousands of born and unborn human infants die worse deaths every year. I'll weep for them first. Puppy deaths pale in comparison. Compared to what really sick goth kids have been reported to do to animals, burial is humane.
