Suspect on the Loose After Shooting Two Students at Delaware State University
Friday, September 21, 2007

A gunman remained on the loose Friday after shooting two students at Delaware State University, forcing the campus into lockdown as police searched for the suspect.

Classes at the Dover, Del., campus were canceled for the day, and students were being kept inside their dormitories until police could find the gunman.

"The shooter is still at large," Carlos Holmes, a university spokesman, said at a press conference near campus. "Given the lessons of the past year, we cannot assume that he is not on campus."

Police continue searching for the male suspect, identifying two persons of interest, both who are students, James Overton, chief of police at Delaware State University, said at a press conference. Police are interviewing one of those persons of interest.

Two 17-year-old students from the Washington, D.C.-area were wounded by the gunman with four to six shots fired, university officials said.

A female student was shot twice, listed in serious condition while the male student was shot once, listed in stable condition....http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,297551,00.html

Suspect in Custody in Campus Shooting

By RANDALL CHASE
Associated Press Writer

DOVER, Del. (AP) -- Police had a suspect in custody Monday in the shooting of two students on the Delaware State University campus, authorities said.

Dover Police Capt. Lester Boney did not release the suspect's name or say what charges the person would face. There was no immediate indication how long the suspect had been in custody.

"If we're getting a warrant for him, I'm comfortable we've got the right guy," Boney said.

Campus police Chief James Overton had said investigators believed the shooter was a Delaware State student....http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/D/DELAWARE_STATE_SHOOTING?SITE=FLTAM&SECTION=US

What's needed to stop this sort of thing are another 17, 248 gun laws.

Oh, for Pete's sake. Yet another loony on the loose?

(Donning a tinfoil cap) You know, I'm beginning to think this is all a vast anti-gun conspiracy. No, really. It must be the anti-gun lobby doing this so that they can continue to bleat "You see? Guns kill people. Take guns away from every gun-owning citizen! ... no, not from the criminals ... that might lower their self-esteem" or some such idiocy.

I'm sick of hearing about this. Sick, I tell you.

Well, no. All that needs to be done is for one of our lawmakers to get some expert speechwriter or bill writer to write a gun surrender bill and load it up with really bad threatening words for the bad guys if they do not comply with the provisions of the bill. Those criminals have to cower so much and shake and tremble with fear and piss their pants before they can see the error of their ways, so that will make them happily and with great relief turn their weapons in to the nearest law people. This is not anal, people!:punish:
