STOCKHOLM (AFP) - Brides in Stockholm who want their fathers to walk them down the aisle are likely to be told it can’t be done, as some pastors are refusing to allow the practice they say is sexist, a pastor said on Friday.
“In Sweden we have worked hard in many different ways to eliminate everything that is unequal,” a Lutheran Church vicar in the Stockholm region, Yvonne Hallin, told AFP.
She said she would not allow the custom in her parish, and noted that Stockholm’s bishop issued a recommendation in 2003 that pastors discourage it."

It's not unbelievable when one considers how far into depravity and insanity Sweden has sunk.

In the first step, a committee is appointed to remove sexist language from hymnals. Prayers and Scriptures are subsequently scrutinized and scrubbed clean. Following this victory, wimmen clerics are duly appointed. If the church is not autocephalous, higher ranks are the next logical step. Pink collars replace black ones, and fingerpainted children's hands festoon the stoles that once bore venerated symbols of Christianity.

Finally, the modernized church admits homosexuals as pastors and bishops, sealing its fate as a cipher, a nonentity.

Hmmmmm....1 Timothy 3:1-7 comes to mind, as does Titus 1:6-9.

BOTH state the Elder (Bishop - leader of the church) is to be a MAN...of sound temperment, of ONE wife, of sober mind, just, holy, self-controlled, not violent, hospitable, able to teach, not greedy for money, etc.

Women have their roles in the church as deaconesses, but they are NOT to be the head of the church body. It is unscriptural. ANY church that has a female lead pastor is a church that has turned its back on God.
