Pain-in-the-ass atheists continue to ram their demands down our throats.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice has removed religious content from a memorial service for murder victims planned for next week after a watchdog group complained.

A religious hymn called "This Too Shall Pass" and a closing prayer by a Lutheran pastor will not be included in the ceremony as initially planned, department spokesman Kevin St. John said Friday.

The Madison-based Freedom From Religion Foundation complained Tuesday that the hymn and the prayer at the state-sponsored event would violate the separation of church and state guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution.Prayer nixed at rite for victims (http://www.madison.com/tct/news/stories/247320)

The obnoxious bastards need some serious butt-kicking, followed by some basic lessons on the Constitution.

If they don't like the prayer then they should either not attend or not listen. Just love how these pukes ruin things for everyone else!:flame:

Sick, yes, but when are people going to start asserting their rights? This reminds me of those HS or college commencement ceremonies where prayers (started by the students, themselves) are BANNED. What the hell can the powers-that-be actually do about it, anyway--have the kids arrested?? So some dame paces around the auditorium wringing her hands--SO WHAT?? LET HER!!!!!

We're quickly becoming a nation of pansies. :flame:

We're quickly becoming a nation of pansies. :flame:No, just a nation that refuses to pay proper tribute to the Lord our God, under the guise of "freedom."

I only pray that these people realize that what they call "Freedom from Religion" is truly bondage.

No, just a nation that refuses to pay proper tribute to the Lord our God, under the guise of "freedom."

And, if they continue to allow others to keep them from practicing their religion, pansies.

"Separation of church and state" is a myth and appears nowhere in the constitution, and the establishment clause was put there to protect religious expression. And, newsflash to the naysayer libs: that means expression in public places. There have been (and still are) many countries in which citizens are required to worship at home or in church--this country isn't one of them (yet).:flame::flame::flame:

Totally agree. If those students who started the prayer stood up to that silly cow and continued to pray out loud, what? They go to jail? They are expelled? Good! Think what a good lawyer would do with that.

You're right, mateus. Bunch of pansies, all of them.

The issue needs to be forced.

I have offered prayers at sports luncheons/picnics and listen to see who gasps and I've occassionally glanced to see who is not being respectful during the prayers. Usually just brainwashed teenagers rolling their eyes and staring up in the air is all I've ever seen. I don't think I've ever detected a gasp either...but then, I live in the Bible Belt. The person protesting would be griping at a stone wall if they did.

I often wonder how long we've got left in America where people will come tap you on the shoulder at a restaurant while you're praying together before a meal. I have laser beam eyes and will not hesitate to warm them up if it ever happens to me under the guise of "hey, I don't want my kids exposed to that stuff" or to tell me "I have 'Constitutional rights' buddy, :noggin: knock it off."

Actually, this came up not too long ago. The valdedictorian (forgive my spelling if I got it wrong) was going to evoke the name of Christ or say a prayer during her speech and the school officials told her they would withhold her diploma if she did. She had to give in but as I remember her parents and she were fighting the school, after the fact unfortunately.

This is the type of crap that has been happening for years. Who remembers this?

"And make no mistake, the Court is going to have a United States marshall in attendance at the graduation. If any student offends this Court, that student will be summarily arrested and will face up to six months incarceration in the Galveston County Jail for contempt of court.... Anybody who violates these orders, no kidding, is going to wish he or she had died as a child when this court gets through with it."
-- U.S. District Court Judge Samuel Kent, May 5, 1995, after ruling that any prayer offered by a student at a high school graduation must not mention any specific deity - including the name of Jesus.

That sphincter-boy judge woulda had my size 10s up his back door...NO ONE will tell me, or my daughter, I (she) cannot pray to my (her) Lord. NO ONE. No judge. No school official. No anonymous person in a resturant.

THE problem with this nation is we no longer HONOR Almighty God. He is patient and longsuffering, but even He runs out of patience.

He is patient and longsuffering, but even He runs out of patience.Indeed! Judah learned that the hard way.

2 Ki 22:1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
2 And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.

23:25 And like unto him was there no king before him, that turned to the LORD with all his heart, and with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.
26 Notwithstanding the LORD turned not from the fierceness of his great wrath, wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah, because of all the provocations that Manasseh had provoked him withal.
27 And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.

It's not wise to provoke God to action.

The ones who really need their butts kicked are the state offices that cave in to these tactics. They're cowards through and through. Those interested in the ceremony should respond to the state's cowardice by holding a separate meeting immediately outside the designated location, call the media, and include LOTSA prayers and hymns.
