London, Sep 20 (ANI): A Venezuelan man, who had been declared dead, woke up in the morgue while being cut open during a post mortem.
Carlos Camejo was declared dead after a highway accident and taken to the morgue, where examiners began an autopsy only to realize something was wrong when he started bleeding.
The 33-year-old woke up in excruciating pain, following which the medics immediately stitched up the cut on his face.

One wonders how many "dead" people woke up in their coffins? There are cases of disinterred coffins that have been opened only to find that the insides were gouged by the fingernails of the "corpse" trying to escape.

It was common enough that embalming was mandated.
