NEW YORK - Paris Hilton (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21087237/#) missed out on a scheduled “Late Show with David Letterman” appearance earlier this summer in order to serve time in jail for a probation violation. When she finally made it to the late-night talk show this past Friday night, David Letterman didn’t let her forget the reason she missed her original appearance.

After a couple of quick opening questions, Letterman went straight into probing Paris about her visit to the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood, Calif., this past June.

“How’d you like being in jail?” he asked.

I thought it was odd that she bristled at the personal questions... hello, the only reason you're here is because people have been watching your personal life like a train wreck. "Oh, I'm just here to talk about my fragrance"... that's basically saying to David, "I've no intention of satisfying the curiosity of your audience, I'm just here to make money off my appearance."
