I think that H.P. Lovecraft is the father of modern horror. His stories still scare the crap out of me. A lot of people complain that he was being an Atheist when he wrote some stories. I don't think so at all.
Herbert West: Re-Animator is a good example of why I don't think he was an Atheist. Herbert thought that reiligion was stupid, and he was the evil guy who played God.
Lovecraft also married a Jewish woman. It's very well possible that he wasn't an Atheist.
So, what's your favorite story of his? Do you think he was a hardcore Atheist?
Favorite Story has to be The Call of Cthulhu.
