Thompson has conservative support

I'm wondering if Democrats have been successful at reducing Thompson's polling data by obsessively commenting that Thompson is losing ground; as "conservatives are pulling away from him". After hearing the comment on CNN, I checked a poll at freerepublic. Thompson was way ahead of the pack there. Are some people pulling away from Thompson because the Democrats are telling them that "conservatives" aren't voting that way?

Really - Hillary against Thompson - I think that thought makes Democrats pee their pantaloons.
