As usual the illegal immigrants are boycotting and since the area is 40% Hispanic you can imagine what the boycott is doing to the brave people who took a stand against the illegal immigrants. In case you do not know about the people of Irving they are some really brave and courageous people Their law enforcement began arresting illegal immigrants and of course the illegal immigrants came out in force to protest and they told their people to call the police and demand they stop this unjust program. The police received a lot of calls and I mean a lot of calls but it was from the citizens of Irving telling them to keep up the good work. Now I know most of us don't live anywhere near Irving Texas but if we send this to enough people someone has to know people who live close enough that they could go to the Irving Mall and let them know that America stands firmly behind them. If we allow these wonderful people to suffer without any help from us no other city will ever take a stand like this again we must protect our own and we must show them solidarity.

I didn't know anything about it. Good post. We should do everything we can for them. What is the rest of Texas doing? Did these people vote for Ron Paul or something thats got them in trouble?

No they called the police and told them to keep picking up the illegal immigrants when the immigrants were supposed to be the ones calling. Some of the illegal immigrants began taking their kids out of school and moving but we have the whole host of the so called activists boycotting them and it is hard on these shop owners because many of the other people moved away because of the illegal immigrant problem here are some of the stories

IRVING — When pro-immigrant activists held a rally Wednesday against a police program that has led to more than 1,500 deportations this year, they told the crowd to call City Hall and demand an end to the program.
City officials said they were swamped with nearly 500 calls the next day. But the calls were overwhelmingly in favor of the police crackdown, called the Criminal Alien Program.

Why is it that when the beaners come to America to escape from Mexico, the first thing they want to do is turn wherever they are into copies of Mexico? Am I missing something here?

I make a point of eating lunch in Irving every day. Even if my days schedule puts me in Ft Worth or Cleburne.

Thank Unk, and I really don't know why it is that they came here to get away from that place but want to turn America into it....

I live in a small town that borders Ft Worth and we have, for all intents and purpose, surrendered our town to Mexico. Sinage around town has begun to take on a Spanish flair. Car lots are begining to fly Mexican flags along side of the American flag, some don't even bother with Old Glory. We have a pizza chain that is accepting pesos for payment. Last year, for several days, 100's of Mexican kids decided that it would be a good idea to leave school and march to Ft Worth to protest at the Federal building and the courthouse (there was no punishment, they even got a police escort to keep their darling asses from getting ran over). I constantly get phone solicitations whrere they don't even bother addressing me in english. I have asked them to tell me why they think I would even understand spanish and have been told that because of our neighborhood's demographics they feel sure that they will reach a hispanic audience. I want to know what the hell our patriots in the Alamo died for, if we are just gonna turn over and let them take it back a piece at a time.
I totally support the Irving goverenment and the brave souls that are making a stand against the Mexican hords. More of our cities need to follow suit.

I think they are starting to get some support they will have a counter rally tomorrow. I know how you feel, Lufkin is starting to feel like Mexico and Nacogdoches has already for the most part been taken over I tend to feel like I am crossing the Border when ever I go across the river these days

I saw a story on the local news about an Army veteran in RENO, NEVADA who got pissed off at a Mexican restaurant for ILLEGALLY flying the American flag BELOW the Mexican flag.

He took his KA-BAR and cut down both of the flags. He took the American flag with him and left the Mexican flag on the ground.

We need more people like this guy. People with some balls.

When illegals boycott it is normally the hispanic businesses that suffer. If business in Irving is suffering, it's probably hispanic owned. Let them go out of business Maybe Irving doesn't need 75 bridal shops and 132 mexican restaurants. Hazleton Pennsylvania had two grocery stores go under as a result of boycotts and illegals moving out. Both stores catered to illegals.

Los Angeles has had some boycotts that all fizzled because it was only the hispanic businesses that felt the impact. Boycotts have virtually stopped. Even hispanic businesses no longer close. Some put up signs in English and Spanish saying "We do not support the boycott". That's without being clear "Please shop here, we need the money".

Americans will continue to shop at American stores. Every boycott day is also "shop till you drop day".

<!-- END /pubsys/production/story/story_assets.comp -->IRVING -- Feuding sides of the immigration debate tried to outshout each other at Irving City Hall on Saturday as demonstrators and counterdemonstrators focused on the city's Criminal Alien Program.
The program identifies suspected illegal immigrants among people Irving police arrest and turns them over to federal immigration authorities.
It has resulted in the deportation of more than 1,600 people, mostly Mexicans and Central Americans, in 13 months.
About 725 opponents of the program marched to City Hall and chanted slogans in English and Spanish. They were met by about 125 supporters of the program, who chanted, "Deport! Deport!" and "Go home! Go home!"
One Irving woman said she was there for her children. Another said she was there for her grandchildren. But they were on different sides of the issue.
"I am here for my grandchildren who won't have a country to inherit if we don't enforce our laws," said Sue Harper, who said she had lived in Irving for 25 years.
She carried a sign that said, "Support Irving Police."
Linda Contreras, 27, rallied on the other side of the police barricade and carried a sign that said, "We are hardworking people."
"I'm a U.S. citizen and I have three children," she said. "What I don't want them to do is to have to stand here [and demonstrate again] just because of the color of their skin."
Opponents of the Criminal Alien Program have said police are racially profiling Hispanics to boost arrests of illegal immigrants.
The Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the Washington, D.C.-based National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders, said his organization will ask the Justice Department to investigate the possibility of racial profiling by Irving police.
Police Lt. Richard Gilmette would not comment on racial-profiling accusations at length but said police feel comfortable with the way they are policing the city.
Gilmette said 45 to 60 officers watched over the march, and no one was arrested.
Opponents of the program tried to avoid confrontations by shooing their marchers away from police barricades where demonstrators from both sides exchanged taunts and insults.
The march's main organizer, Carlos Quintanilla, urged people to stay politically active, register to vote and contact their elected leaders.
Quintanilla led the demonstrators in chants of "We are America."
A sign on the other side of the barricade read, "Illegal immigrants are not Americans."

Ummmm Riddle me this... if you're a LEGAL U.S. Citizen, what makes you think you or your kids NEED to stand there and protest deportation of illegals? If you're a LEGAL citizen, you're not in any danger of being deported you stupid twit!

Opponents of the Criminal Alien Program have said police are racially profiling Hispanics to boost arrests of illegal immigrants.

Let me just file that one under "No shit! You think!?!?!?!"

Of course they're "racially profiling Hispanics" If you're trying to find and deport illegal mexicans, do you harass Willie Wanka and check the I.D.'s of the fuking Oompa Loompa? No, you check Hispanics! Get a clue! You're damn right we're checking based on their race. It's THAT race that is here illegally! Shit, I thought people in Texas were supposed to be mildly intelligent!

The Rev. Miguel Rivera, president of the Washington, D.C.-based National Coalition of Latino Clergy and Christian Leaders, said his organization will ask the Justice Department to investigate the possibility of racial profiling by Irving police.

And the award for the most blatant use of irony goes to.... drum roll please...

Umm, excuse me there Reverend Taco... You're pissed that they are targeting you based on your "Latino" race... Am I understanding this Mr. President of the National Coalition of LATINO Clergy and Christian Leaders?

If you're so fuking offended at being identified by your race, why do you not belong to the National Coalition of Clergy and Christian Leaders? Why do you have to fly that Race Flag for Padre Paco?

Police Lt. Richard Gilmette would not comment on racial-profiling accusations at length but said police feel comfortable with the way they are policing the city.

I was feeling comfortable with it too... until I read:

Gilmette said 45 to 60 officers watched over the march, and no one was arrested.

I'm sure there was 1 or 2 Illegal Cockroaches in attendance. It would have been a BEAUTIFUL statement if they could have pulled a few from the crowd and made deportation examples of them!
