Prediction:
Notre Dame: 27
USC: 23
Evan Sharpley, who should have started in the first place will start tomorrow and lead the Irish to a come from behind victory. The Irish grounds keepers have now let the grass grow to "wheat field" length and should slow down the USC condoms.
GO IRISH!!

ND did beat UCLA last week, but that's not saying much. UCLA plummeted out of BCS contention after week 4 and was highly over rated to begin with.
Last week, ND got rolled by Boston College and USC hobbled past Arizona.
I think this game will be close, too. Only because USC is vulnerable, rife with injuries and ND isn't good...yet.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby
Some day I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemondrops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me

Jess kiddin, brudder, :smirky:. ANYTHING'S possible the way this college football season has gone, :D

I will say that I like the replacement for Clausen, Jones. He seemed much more effective. Too bad they're not going to use him Saturday. I hear they're starting Evan Sharpley.

Yeah, he went to U of Cincy... I wasn't too impressed with his field presence in the GT game. Sharpley was actually the best of the lot going into spring but CW outsmarted himself and tried to go with Jones early. When that didn't work they went to Clausen who was still recovering from an injury and now he is going into the 8th game with the right QB... Guess it's better late than never. With that being said, if they can't get at least 75 yds on the ground (in College sacks count negative in the rushing game) they will be toast; even if Sharpley throws for 300.

I guess that landing mishap wasn't enough to deter the Trojans. Unfortunately for the Irish, the green jerseys didn't work, either.
Weis promises there will be better days ahead (http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/cs-071020teddy,1,1879590.column)

In Eugene--and elsewhere among supporters of the University of Oregon--one has two favorite teams: Oregon, and whoever's playing Washington. Last weekend, they had only one favorite team.
SEATTLE -- After waiting so long to be the featured guy in Oregon's (http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefootball/teams/page/OR) backfield, Jonathan Stewart didn't need the speech.
Still, Oregon coach Mike Bellotti made sure Stewart was comfortable carrying the load with backfield mate Jeremiah Johnson out for the season with a knee injury.
Stewart, who waited 2½ seasons for this moment, gave his coach an emphatic answer Saturday night with the second-best rushing performance in Oregon history. Stewart ran for a career-high 251 yards and two touchdowns, Andre Crenshaw added 113 yards and two second-half scores, and No. 7 Oregon pulled away late for a 55-34 win over Washington (http://cbs.sportsline.com/collegefootball/teams/page/WA).

While the Trojans clicked, the Irish bickered.
Late in the third quarter, Spanos said, Notre Dame's defenders "started to yell back and forth to each other. They got frustrated with themselves. We couldn't be happier with how we were playing, but you could tell they didn't really have it anymore."
I guess that's why they're called the Fighting Irish!

I am going on the record for this weekend and saying there is no way in hell we lose!!! We got a bye week
On a happier note; we just landed Jonas Gray the #3 RB in the nation per Rivals and another 5 Star WR Michael Floyd this last weekend; even after the loss!
As it's shaping up now - minus any defections we will have the #1 Recruiting class for this next year! :thumb: Look out baby!!!!
