The loss almost certainly cost Cal (5-2, 2-2), which came up short at the end for the second week in a row, any chance at the Pac-10 title.I guess they aren't going to the Rose Bowl.

It's still a horserace, though Cal has taken big hits. With Oregon, USC, ASU, and even UCLA in it, plus who knows what upset specials are still down the road like Stanford and OSU have already provided. All's Cal can do now is win out and hope for losses by UO, USC, ASU, and UCLA.
With USC at UO this coming Saturday, Cal can get back into serious contention by knocking off ASU, undefeated thanks to a weak schedule. The winner of this weekend's UO-USC game will have the inside track on the Pac-10 championship, but there is still a lot of big games left in the Pac-10 schedule.
ASU's next four games are Cal, at UO, at UCLA, then USC. Fat chance that ASU will survive that gauntlet.
USC, meanwhile, still has at UO, at Cal, and home against ASU and UCLA.
UO is at home vs. USC and ASU, then at UCLA.
UCLA finishes the season vs ASU, UO, then at USC.
So, you see, most of the big games in the Pac-10 are still to be played, so it's too early to rule out up to five teams from taking the championship this year.

I'd like to see Cal go to the Rose Bowl. See someone different in there for a change. That would be a monumental event if that ever happened, especially since they are sitting at #5 in the conference standings. We'll see. Yes, lots of upsets this season. Good luck Cal!

Cal's loss to OSU is going to be hard to recover.
Like I said, the winner of this weekend's UO-USC game will have the edge.
While I can separate sins from sinners, rooting for any team from Berserkly is anathema to me.
I'm hoping that this is the year for the Ducks.

Yep, Oregon is a force to contend with...they did spank Michigan. As a Buckeye fan I can appreciate that. Just hope we don't have to play the Ducks in the Rose Bowl. lol

Ducks 'n Buckeyes in the Rose Bowl?
That would be another milestone in Duck history!
Ducks should have played Miami for the BCS title years ago (2001?), but got cheated out in favor of Nebraska for supposed TV ratings. I don't know how many people watched the ugly end with NB getting spanked and sent to bed with no dessert. Meanwhile, the Ducks pasted CO to finish 2nd in the BCS.
Ducks have a history of getting less respect than they deserve.
This is a high water mark for the Ducks this year. If they beat USC this weekend, they just might do it.
