Could GOP's Next VP Come From Land of Gators, Bulldogs or Longhorns?
< snip , snip >

It's been my contention for months that Crist will likely be on a shortlist of potential candidates to run for vice president on the GOP ticket once the party's presidential nominee becomes clear.

< snip , snip >

Suppose Giuliani or even Romney ends up the nominee. In both instances they will have scorched some Southern earth by having rolled over Thompson. Either would be seen as too liberal or too squishy on social issues for some marginal red states.

If so, Georgia's Gov. Sonny Perdue has been mentioned as a possible dark horse short-lister.

< snip , snip >

But the one potential nominee least written about but most likely to be at the top of any list for consideration is Texas Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison.

Kay Bailey Hutchison is a RINO. For example, she voted for the Dream act that wold have opened the door for amnesty for illegals. In addition, she has been toeing the radical feminist line ever since she supported the lying female officers from the Tailhook so-called scandal and helped ruin the careers of innocent male officers.

She should receive NO consideration for any higher office than the one she now holds. In fact, I hope a real Republican - a real conservative - runs against her and defeats her if she is still around in 2012 (rumor has it that she is considering resigning from the Senate in 2010, maybe to run for governor).

Kay Bailey is a Moderate at very best, she voted for the dream act. She has a history of opposing any restrictions on illegal immigration. She is a Social liberal with a proven track record of OPPOSING Conservative Republican measures. What I hear through the grapevine is that she WILL run for Govenor in 2010, and Perry (Our current Rhino Govenor) will seek to replace her as Senator. There are alot of us (Grass roots activists) That are trying to convince Railroad Commissione Michael Williams to run for Govenor in 2010. Its a given that Dewhurst will try to move up to Govenor and he is as moderat as Perry or Hutchinson.

Well, in reference to the original article, the writer's theoretical premise that Rudy or Mitt might need a friendly face from the Deep South to soothe ruffled feathers might be correct, but in actual application the writer needs to learn just WHAT constitutes a friendly face in the South...

This boy apparently has never eaten a Moon Pie - His judgement is unbalanced...

Does anyone else here find it offensive when these political "illuminaries" think we will simply line up like sheep just because someone from our state or region is chosen to join the presidential ticket? Does he think we would just grin our toothless grins and clamour to give our votes if they chose Jimmuh Carter to run with Rudy JUST BECAUSE HE'S FROM GEORGIA?

I have come to the conclusion that these writers think we are utter morons who can be led around by a piece of hard candy dangling from the end of a stick...

KBH would be a winner with any ticket!

Doubt it. Too many conservatives oppose amnesty, and she supports it.

If she supports amnesty, she might in fact be a deal breaker for me, even with all the talk I've been making about solidarity in the party... I can't abide another anmesty betrayal...

I don't know much about Crist, so I'll abstain for now.

Earlier this week KBH voted for the Dream act that would have been the first step towards massive amnesty for illegals. We don't need a RINO on the Republican ticket in either position. She's been on my excrement list ever since she sided with the radical feminists on the Tailhook non-scandal. She's been with the radical feminists ever since, especially on military matters.
