SAN FRANCISCO - Barry Bonds is just a tad bitter about his departure from the San Francisco Giants.

The 43-year-old home run king heard a long list of his accomplishments read during a special speaking forum Wednesday night hosted by the Commonwealth Club, then was asked by KGO Radio host Ray Taliaferro if he'd really reached all those feats...

"I did, and then I got fired," Bonds told a group of about 450 people in the audience...

Quitcherbitchin', Barry! The Giants were a bad team this year and since you had to be "the team," the organization did the first thing they had to do to start fixing things and that was part ways with you.

Deflate your ego a bit, Boy!

I'd love to be a Bonds fan, but he's a jerk and he's a cheater. Those two make me not like him even a little bit.

Bonds stung by departure from GiantsAs the entire baseball world was stung over the years by revelations of what a shitass you are, Barry. With your talent you'd have made the Hall of Fame anyway and could have been immortalized in the best sense. You chose to be a cheating asshole. You'll be remembered more for that than for your home runs.

No one deserves such disrepute more.

Babe Ruth is remembered for his homers, but just as much for his larger-than-life, friendly personality. Henry Aaron is remembered for his homers, but just as much for his gentlemanly behavior. He exuded class. Here's the conversation that will characterize YOU, Barry:

"What's the record for most homers?"

"Um, 761, 762, something like that."

"Who?"

"That one jerk, the dude with the hardon all the time, always an asshole. Can't remember his name. Even his teammates didn't get along with him."

"Yeah, nobody should be a prick in public. What a creep."

Barry Bonds will be forgotten when A-Rod trumps his record...in about 5 years?

And possibly beat Bonds' record as a Giant? :D (There is now serious talk that Alex Rodriguez is seriously considering becoming a San Francisco Giant.)

My wife was talkin' about that before the end of the regular season when it became clear that Bonds would not be back. SF can afford A-Rod, but they probably wouldn't be able to afford decent pitching, something the team really needs. The Giants can hit the ball. They know how to score runs, they play solid defense, but they've got no real support from the bullpen once they get the lead.

SF would be a good fit for A-Rod. He's almost as big an a-hole as Barry Bonds. lol

I'm surprised to hear that. My sensing was that Arod was a good dude and well-liked.
