A crowd of 110,134, the second-largest in Beaver Stadium history, greeted the Buckeyes at one of the most raucous venues in the country. The Penn State fans started out loud but were quieted quickly and the Buckeyes went on to their seventh double-digit victory.

The Buckeyes were so good on offense they never punted.

Penn State or Pennsylvania State University,

plays their home games in Beaver Stadium,

which is located in University Park, Pennsylvania,

which is located in State College, Pennsylvania,

but they call it "Happy Valley,"

which is about 100 miles east of...where they are.

Okay...

I'd say the "real" Happy Valley is in Columbus right now.

When you play 9 home games a year and 5 of those are againt teams like Kent State, Akron etc it's easy to get up for the other 3 away games... OSU should not be allowed to play in a bowl game until they play more D1A schools.

 All the Division I-A schools should be prohibited from putting anything other than Division I-A schools on their schedules.

Does it really matter?

Besides, Michigan got the shock of a lifetime on day one if I recall correctly.

I think teams would have to play stronger, more legitimate competition if there was a playoff system at the end of the season. Right now, a team has every incentive to play as many non-conference patsies as it can in hopes of getting through an "unblemished" season and into a bowl game, hopefully (for the team, anyway) against an opponent who shouldn't be there.

Of course, as Beastie pointed out in the case of Michigan, sometimes things don't work out as planned.
