I just heard this announced during the W.S. from the ESPN announcers. They also said that the Yankees are reporting that if he does, they will NOT negotiate a new contract with him. I will post a link when I find something.

Sucks to be a Yankee fan nowadays!

I hated the guy so I dont give a damn. He was a great player but a sucky person and he flaunted it. I just have no respect for the man so I am ok with him leaving.


Come to think of it.... I dont know anyone torn about it.

Right you are. The fact he had 10 days to opt out and did it during the world series, not letting someone else have centerstage shows the lack of class he has.
This is the next Bonds.

I wasn't aware of him behaving in a lousy way. He had ten days and he acted within that window. I'd wager anything the timing was accidental.

Brian Cashman doesn't sound like the most likable dude to me.
