It looks more and more like Ohio State taking on LSU in the BCS Championship Game early in 2008.

Stop hogging my thread, http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/icon8.gif << kidding >>

:smirky:

We get enough of this kind of treatment from ESPN! http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/crazy000.gif I didn't watch the game, because to be frank, I thought we were gonna get creamed. Bubba came in the room and excitedly told me that FSU had won, and I was so thrilled. Channel surfed until I caught the coverage on ESPN -- I simply couldn't believe it (I don't know why I didn't believe it, ESPN has been disrespecting FSU and Bobby Bowden specifically for years now) --they went over all the "good" stats for BC, showed all the GOOD clips of play for BC, and barely said ANYTHING about the college team that BEAT the #2 team! A huge upset, and yet they had considerably more coverage of the LSU/Alabama game, and the Navy/ND game (which is kinda more acceptable, considering Navy hasn't won against ND since 1963), but get real, they weren't even IN the standings!

ESPN is openly antagonistic against FSU. No wonder I'm openly antagonistic towards their channel, :smirky:.

BC shoulda lost last week, too. Overrated as hell!

Boston College rode that Boston professional sports wave for all it was worth. Then, reality kicked in.

Thank you Florida State Seminoles!

Nevertheless, BC had a great run and will still have a great season for themselves.

I thought that LSU would go down yesterday, and it looked that way into the 4th quarter. The rest of their season looks pretty easy, so they should win out and go to the Sugar Bowl.

Ohio State has has been doing well, but against a fairly easy schedule. We'll see if they really deserve to go to the Sugar Bowl after their last game against Michigan.

Of the top teams, Oregon has proven they deserve to be there. Although being their own worst enemy while barely losing against then #2 Cal, they have beaten three top 10 teams - Michigan, USC, and last night ASU. They should win out unless they succumb to overconfidence against testy teams eager to play the spoiler role - of which UCLA, UA, and Oregon State are all capaple.

Having a Youngstown State or an Akron on your schedule tends to diminish the (perceived) strength of your team's schedule, but Washington, Penn State, Michigan State, Purdue and Wisconsin were teams that were supposed to give the Buckeyes a hard time. However, the scores and stats show us something totally different.

The Buckeyes still have to play Illinois and finally Michigan...at Ann Arbor in the "Big House." Not exactly a cake walk.

The Buckeyes haven't lost a regular season game since October, 2005.

The Buckeyes have 114 players on the roster. Only 12 of them are seniors. With that kind of perpetual depth and talent, their schedule will always seem "easy."

But I digress...Congrats to Florida State for smacking Boston College in the mouth last night. LOL

That's what I'm saying. I don't deny that they aren't an awesome team - just that they haven't been tested by a real contender. Decisive wins over second-tier teams, of which Washington is NOT included, are notable, but aren't a real test. Michigan, which has been surging since losing their first two games, is the only real test that OSU has.

PS: I'd rather see UO-OSU in the Sugar Bowl, but I don't see LSU stumbling now.

Yeah, the Buckeyes are at the point now that their only real test is the national championship game.

Coach Bobby, if you can read this, you made this Buckeye fan very happy last night. Maybe one day we can play y'all in a national championship game. I think that would be an exciting game.

Are the new rankings up yet?

AP is out, but BCS isn't. Not much movement since most of the top 25 won their games. ASU and BC didn't fall very far.

BTW, with BC losing, their QB Matt Ryan just took a big hit in his Heismann trophy hopes - especially with his 3 interceptions.
With a superb performance yesterday, Dennis Dixon of Oregon is now the leading candidate.
The sports writers can't gush enough over him.
