"Foosball! Bunch of overgrown monsters manhandling each other.."
She got such a way with words, don't she?
Well, here we are at week 10 already.. This season's going by Way too fast.
How about last week's upsets? I mean, DANG, anyone else predict Atlanta serving San Fran such a drubbing? :roar:
Seriously though, I was lucky enough to have game day off (for once) and was able to watch the GB-KC, Minn-SD, and NE-Indy games.
Green Bay is for real folks. As much as I hate them (my team's chief rival) even I can't deny they're headed to the playoffs. Bank on that. I'll say it again though, if I hear ONE more 'expert' acting surprised that Farve can still throw the ball or that he's still 'got the arm'.. I'm gonna lose.. my.. happy.. thoughts.. :flame:
Minnesota smoked San Diego. Who'd a thunk? Apparently everyone but Adrian Peterson got the message that Minnesota was done for the year. And the kid went on to run 296 yards into the history books. Vikings better lock that kid's contract up quick if they haven't already!
New England vs Indianapolis. Disappointed. No offense, Teenager, but I was pulling for the Colts. :smirky: This was a great game, lots of big plays on both sides, but it really looked like it was going Indy's way up until the last half of the 4th quarter. These teams will most likely play again, and the way it looks, it'll be in Foxborough. But I'll wager that when they do, it'll be even less predictable than this one was. The Colts and Pat's rule the NFL right now, and noone else is really even close.
Enough living in the past, lets talk week 10. :D
I had some trouble making my picks this week. I expect Vegas will as well. There are a lot of close matchups and a few games that Look like obvious locks but will probably be anything but.
San Diego vs Indy for example.. Gut reaction says Indy, clearly. But San Diego's drubbing last week was, if not a fluke, a bad example of their overall performance this season. Expect this game to be a Lot closer than their matchup with Minnesota. Even so, I'm giving Indy the edge.
The big grudge match/barroom brawl is going to be in New York though. The Cowboys and the Giants are duelling over their division and this will be their second head to head this year. It's very possible they'll face each other again in the post-season as well. Last time, Dallas handed New York a 45-35 defeat. This time, Tony Romo's coming to play at Eli Manning's house. Get ready for fireworks.
One Undefeated team left.. the Pats. And since this is their week off, that's not gonna change this week. Two Winless teams left as well.. Miami and Saint Louis. Of the two, I think only Miami's got a shot to change that, but we'll see.
On to the picks! :D

Looks like we agree this week. That's good. At least I can't be in last place all alone if my picks go sour again.

I was going to tell you to hang in there after reading your post in the week 9 thread, guess you didn't need it. :)
You know, it's kinda funny.. sometimes it feels like a big handicap, having to make all my picks by Tuesday night each week. But maybe it's actually more of an advantage because I can't 'second guess' myself later on.
Anyways, luck has a Huge impact on these picks. We can analyze and statistize and theorize all we want, but it still boils down to the adage (with apologies to Pacino), "Any given Sunday you're gonna win or you're gonna lose."
And there's lots of season left to play still.

When the Colts sacked Tom Brady on the very first play that the Pats had the ball, I knew it was going to be a good game for the Colts. They should've won by all accounts. But in the end, the Pats were simply more clutch when it counted the most.

But they're both playing off a loss and I just don't think the Chargers have the 'juice' to do it.

As the scores were playing on the ticker I was just left shaking my head. At this point 8 - 8 might just get you a playoff spot. When Rex Grossman comes off the bench to rally the team it's gonna be a brutal week!
