... new calculations might leave the mass of the universe as much as ten to 20 percent lighter than previously calculated.
...some x-rays thought to come from intergalactic clouds of "warm" gas are instead probably caused by lightweight electrons.
If the source of so much x-ray energy is tiny electrons instead of hefty atoms, it is as if billions of lights thought to come from billions of aircraft carriers were found instead to come from billions of extremely bright fireflies.
"This means the mass of these x-ray emitting clouds is much less than we initially thought it was ..." "A significant portion of what we thought was missing mass turns out to be these 'relativistic' electrons."Traveling at almost the speed of light (and therefore "relativistic"), these feather weight electrons collide with photons from the cosmic microwave background. Energy from the collisions converts the photons from low-energy microwaves to high-energy x-rays.

They've got the effects of relativity backwards. Electrons traveling near light speed would be heavier than ordinary electrons.

The next time I fart while sitting on the couch, I'll tell my wife it's just lightweight electrons.

My wife swears I fart black holes.

I wouldn't want to clean up THAT mess...
It would really suck...

:D Personally, I blame the US Government.
Somehow.
Either them or Al Queda... (Hint for Tex: that (<-- ) was a joke) :D

The grays have been having a great old time sending those false signals to our backward scientists.

Long as the Aliens stay in their parta the cosmos, that's okay with me.

What fun is that? Who here doesn't want to see a cool flying saucer beam up a cow or conduct experiments on art bell fans?

The disappearance of a big chunk of the universe is obviously Bush's fault!

Who here doesn't want to see a cool flying saucer beam up a cow or conduct experiments on art bell fans? They long since passed by cows. Their latest experiments, now coming to fruition, resulted in Ted Kennedy, Bill and Hillary, Algore, John Effin Kerry, Rosie O'Donut, Barbra Streisand, and on and on.

Damn it!
Someone's always beating me to the "Bush's Fault" line!

I had the same thought. It was a secret weapon designed by Bush to take out a whole section of the cosmos.:D

All I know is, no well-behaved universe would keep disappearing and then showing up again just to disappear again. I mean, when you think about it, that reflects poorly on its parents.

I love the idea of UFOs but I have never seen one. I know there is a lot of people who claim they have but something like that I must see for myself to truly believe it.
I would love for a flying saucer to land in my back yard and give me the secrets of the universe or just give me a hug and reassure me we are not the only life in the universe.
Until that happens, I will always doubt UFO claims.

I'm leery of hugs from et's. I mean, some a them dudes are 200 feet tall and if they hug you, you might afterwards be able to slide right under a closed door.

I love the idea of UFOs but I have never seen one.Yet they must exist; otherwise, how did Dennis Kucinich ever get here?

That's easy. They found him in a toilet bowl. What is NOT easy is explaining why they didn't just flush him.
