Seems the word is out that the movie is a boring lecture of US-, Bush-, and anti-military bashing. That old catcher's-mit-for-a-face Robert Redford doesn't understand that everyone gets all the opinions they want all day long on TV, radio, and dead fish wrappers, so why the heck does he think that they want to pay money to go sit and get lectured to some more in his movie?

The lefties and the uninformed will watch.

Oh, this movie shoud do well overseas, too; plus the overseas DVD sales. They'll all get indoctrinated with more anti-Americanism in Beirut, Amman, Cairo, Istanbul, and so on; then the lefties will tell us again that, "Thanks to Bush, the whole world hates us!"

Yes because Lefties believe whatever they are told to belive. It's so much easier than having to use your only coherent brain cell, and try to think for one' self

Hon, all you need to know is that Robert Redford directed it and stars in it. That alone should confirm your suspicions that this film is nothing but YET another bit of Hollywood anti-America propaganda.

If a film "about the war, or terrorism" has Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Susan Sarandon, Sean Penn, or any other member of the Hollywood fauna, you can bet your kids' college tuition that it will be anti-America propaganda.

I wuz jus' wonderin' if Streep was POTUS.............if so, it's mighty convenient (again) that a female President be portrayed when one is actually in the running. If I recall, somethin' like this happened before. Then, of course, I could be wroo......wrrooon..................wrong!

I think you are thinking of when Ferraro ran (as vice president wasn't it?) and the movie Air Force One (with Harrison Ford) where a female Vice President was portrayed. Though I do not know if the movie and Ferraro's campaign coincided or not, I do not think they did.

UA/MGM's Lions For Lambs placed 4th. But the question Hollywood is asking today is what sank the movie: its star Tom Cruise or its controversial Iraq War subject matter? Judging from the exit polling, I'd have to say the latter, because the attendance for this film split straight down political lines already sharply drawn in this country. It was stronger on both coasts than in the middle of the country, and it played better in Blue states than Red states, and it appealed to older, more upscale, and educated audiences. United Artists noted that Lions For Lambs "performed much better" than other anti-war themed movies In The Valley Of Elah and Rendition but that's not saying much -- all focused on the war and flopped at the box office. The film got some of the worst reviews ever for a prestige project like this -- only 27% positive according to Rotten Tomatoes, and Redford's direction was roundly criticized as was the talky script that played like a stage production. If it weren't for the marketing campaign claiming it was presenting both sides, the pic might have tanked even worse. From the link.

CONSENSUS

Despite its powerhouse cast, Lions for Lambs feels like a disjointed series of lectures, rather than a sharp narrative, and ends up falling flat.http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/lions_for_lambs/about.php#consensus

The DBM feeds us the same information for free. Just watch any of 30 channels.

Why go to a theater and pay $8.50 a pop to be hectored at with more of the same?

To keep track of the turkey:

Box Office Mojo: Lions for Lambs (http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=lionsforlambs.htm)

Released 11/9. Domestic gross as of 11/15 - $8,687,745

Once the leftist assholes have seen it, it will tank. John and Jane American Citizen won't waste their money on that sort of contemptible bullshit.

Er, Gonz, love. Air Force One was years after Ferraro's presidential run.

This Jane certainly won't. There was also this film with Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon, about their son being a soldier in Iraq. I told Jim "We are NOT watching this crap. Anything with Susan Sarandon in it MUST be anti-American propaganda."

We're on to those Hollywood morons. They are the only ones who haven't realized it yet.

I thought so, but I wasn't sure. I didn't care for either one of them (Ferraro or Air Force One) enough to keep track when each made their respective appearance. I don't like much of Harrison Ford's movies, as if anyone can ever watch a Harrison Ford movie and think anything except "What the hell is Han Solo Trying to do now?"

 Well, I'll take Han Solo throwing commies off his plane over liberals wringing their hands about big bad America's treatment of Islamofascists ANYTIME.

Air Force One was one of the best thrillers I've seen. I like Harrison Ford. He's Indianna Jones!
What Lies Beneath, with Ford, was extremely confusing to me. If you want to see Harrison Ford evil, see that flick. It's bizzah...

Instead of making bumper sticker agitprop, Bobby Redford shoulduh stuck to real important stuff like adopting a brown kid or marrying a gay.

Cause the foreign pol-uh-see is not the boy's trump card. No. Hollywood should do what they're good at: fresh, invigorating tabloid divorce, prescription drug abuse, facial reconstruction surgery and donating money to cults.

Lions'n lambs'n shit is probably better than sharks'n giraffes'n shit but not as good as monkeys'n llamas'n shit.

Because monkeys are funny. Everybody likes monkeys. I know I do. And llamas! Boy are those fukked up things funny looking.

So next time, throw a few llamas in your movie you washed up fukin windbag geezer! And a monkey too.

Animals are substitutes for good plot. Proof in point: Clint Eastwood was always better with an orangutan in there.

Quiz Show, The Natural, A River Runs Through It('It', what's 'it'?) I never understood any of that shit. And, since all of Redford's flix suck dick, a few marsupials could probably spice that shit right up.

Besides, whaddup with Redford's face?

Its uncircumcized and dotted with Shrek moles. Both him and Brad Pitt, the 'sexiest man alive' or some such homo marketing bullshit, have skin that looks like stucco.

I've seen victim's of the Hiroshima blast that had better skin than these two.

Somebody should take a freaking trowel to Pitt's cheek and just grout that mothereffer in!

Put some Fix-All in Redford's chunky forehead fer keerying out loud.

Sexy my ASS!

Meanwhile, Beowulf opens with $28 million first weekend haul.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,312102,00.html

This week's top 12 films grossed 29 percent less than the top 12 in the same weekend last year. Ticket sales were also off 3 percent from last week.
Attendance has been down eight of the past nine weekends according to Media By Numbers.

And the Hollyweird loons pretend not to know why Americans seek escapism and heroes vs. political controversy and political indoctrination lectures.

I notice it did better in foreign markets. Perhaps it's just the thing to stop the leftist campaign oversees - by associating anti-Americanism with antiquated 1960s based boredom.
