New York Governor Spitzer Abandons Driver's Licenses for Illegals Plan
Wednesday, November 14, 2007

WASHINGTON — New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer said Wednesday he was abandoning a plan to issue driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, but said that the federal government had "lost control" of its borders and left states to deal with the consequences.

"I have concluded that New York state cannot successfully address this problem on its own," Spitzer said at a news conference after meeting with members of the state's congressional delegation.

'Bout time, if Spitzer's idea had been implemented, it would have helped them out with the illegal alien turnout next election.

Spitzer heard that 70% of New Yorkers didn't want this idea to happen. I think he listened, strange as that may be from a Dummycrat.

Rush had a comment about this news item today... He found it fascinating that this announcement has come about 1 day before Hilary's next debate performance... What an amazing coincidence...

Rush wonders if Spitzer was invited on a fishing trip with Bill "Don Corleon" Clinton in the last few days...

The extent of the fear these thugs can wield among their own pack is simply amazing... Is everyone making note of the limits to which the Clintons will go to win this election?

Spitzer was right about one thing.
that the federal government had "lost control" of its borders and left states to deal with the consequences.I would like for him to point out a great deal of that is thanks to the democrats, liberal judges and groups like the ACLU who fight tooth and nail against getting control of the illegal immigration problem.

Exactly. If it doesn't sell change your position. Kerry -ism's. If it sells, stick with it. Its easy when you don't have a plan, you just insert which way the wind is blowing at whim.

It was pretty funny to watch a chastened Spitzer renege on his plan; minutes later Hillary's camp comes out with her newest position on the matter, which is 'disapproval' of giving illegals drivers licenses, of course, and just in time for the Vegas debate, of course.
