I'm currently debating gun control on another forum, and someone brought up gun shows. I thought I remembered someone saying that 99% of the people who purchase guns at gun shows don't even commit crimes or kill anyone. Is this true? Or am I just crazy?

There is NO gunshow "loophole"

If you buy a firearm from a "dealer" at a gun show, you are going to have a NICS check run, JUST LIKE YOU WOULD AT A GUN STORE.

If you buy a gun from an individual "non-dealer" at a gun show (doesn't happen as frequently as it used to), then no background check necessary. It's just two private parties participating in a transaction.

We recently had a gun show in a town close to me.

7500 people attended, and for the 3 days that it was here (and for a week after, I checked), there were no murders committed, and no armed robberies.

Thanks. http://freeconservatives.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I was wondering, is there anyway to legitimize reports from NewsMax in the eyes of non-conservatives? They doubt the legitimacy of the site.

Kinda doubt it. Newsmax to them is like the National Enquirer to us. If you do use Newsmax with a liberal, it's a good idea to have it backed up by a couple other sources...(and NO the RNC isn't a good one to use!!! LOL)

I also used The Guardian and The Telegraph, which were called tabloids, though I am certain this isn't true. Am I correct? I actually thought that those two were biased in the other direction.

In that case, I'd have to say that you're balancing Newsmax quite well...the Guardian and the Telegraph do lean left.

And they aren't tabloids, right?

Actually, I'm not sure. I just figured they were "legitimate" left leaning publications.
