AP - 1 hour, 2 minutes ago VALENCIA, Spain - Global warming is "unequivocal" and carbon dioxide already in the atmosphere commits the world to an average rise in sea levels of up to 4.6 feet, the world's top climate experts warned Saturday in their most authoritative report to date.
Pfft.

Well, THAT's a relief.
If it were somebody serious I might be worried.

I question global warming, however I do believe we as human beings should do more to take care of the only home we have. I hate breathing in smog and I hate the fact that no matter where I live, assholes want to tear down the forests that I hike in.
Call me a pansy but the open wilderness brings solice to my life, gives me an outlet to 'find' myself in. Nothing better than hiking in the woods along a creek system to caves and other cool areas that no one else knows about.
The global warming scare is just that, a scare. The planet naturally warms and cools, regardless of human activities. We are probably in a period of warming due to sun activity or something along those lines. In twenty years from now the next craze will be global cooling. People need to stop worrying about this 'problem.'

I hate the fact that no matter where I live, assholes want to tear down the forests that I hike in.There are in fact more trees now than there were when the EEEEE-vill white men arrived, thanks to sound forestry practices. If we could shoot the ecowackos whose government-enforced idiocy results in catastrophic fires like those in CA, fed by dead trees and unmanaged brush, there would be even more trees.

Question: what is the "rubber boat" using for fuel? I hope it's solar or wind power. If it's using fossil fuel, that would make the Greenpeace freaks hypocrites, n'est-ce pas?

I was thinking the same thing, Doc. They must set an example and row like hell to keep up with other boats!

It's like they think that not enough people are taking their scary predictions seriously enough because they are not scary enough.

It's like they think a presidential election year is quickly approaching in the US and they want a corrupt socialist government running the country.

The useful link in RG's post is to this page. (http://www.jpands.org/jpands1203.htm) Scroll down to "79 - Environmental Effects of Increased Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide". There are two links to PDF files. The better one for those on broadband (it's 5,823,732 bytes) is "Download high resolution, color PDF file". (http://www.jpands.org/vol12no3/robinson600.pdf)
