China's phenomenal economic growth has created a generation of "emperors" and "empresses," the now-adult children of China's one-child policy, who often put their needs before anything and anyone else.

So much for the "collective" good. This is the perfect example of the Marxist elite profiting off of the backs of the lowly surfs. This is the mindset of the American elitist as well, let the low life’s give away their "human rights" so we can holiday in the Hamptons. Socialism has nothing to do with improving the lives of the governed; its goal is to feather the nests of the chosen with the toil of the bottom feeders. Way to go Chairman Mao!

"They are weak in horizontal bonding, communicating with the same generation," said Professor Fucius Yunlan, a U.S.-trained psychiatrist who runs counseling sessions in Beijing.

"They tend to apply a vertical approach to horizontal relationships."

Uh, sure, professor. Like whatever.

For many years now the Chinese have been jokingly calling only children "Xiao Di" (little emperors). They were over-indulged spoiled brats doted upon by fauning grandparents all day long, then spoiled more by their parents after work. I saw some. Geez, nothing a good paddling every once in a while wouldn't cure them of. Years ago when I was there I heard that one-night stands were gaining popularity amongst the urban young - something that would never happen in the old days.
