Ok so I did my speech today on abortion and why it should be illegal.

Firstly I was SOOOOOOOOOOO nervous. Lets just say it had an effect on my disgestive functions and my bladder seemed like it was the size of kidney bean. The girl before me did a speech on marijuana and why it should be legal; and while I was putting up the photos for my speech my teacher jokingly asked if someone could pass him a joint so he could get through it. It made for a good laugh and that helped me release some of my nerves. I joined in the joke and said she better pass one to me first. :smirky:

Even with that, I was still shaking like mad when I was getting prepared.

There was so much more information I wanted to add but I thought it would be too long, so I didn't. Turns out that was smart because I exceeded the time limit. I spent a total of 15 minutes on the topic and had about 12 pictures posted on the board.

In the end my teacher said it was very good and I did a wonderful job. He also said that for most of the speech it had just enough emotion without going overboard. There a few weak points though. He said I should have used the pictures more because they were a bit distracting. But overall he found it to be moving.

In the end most folks were still in the middle on the subject, but hopefully they'll remember what I said about abortion in the future when the subject comes up.

Wonderful job, Prez!

Most people fear public speaking even more than they fear death.

Tackling a hot-button political issue while being scared to death to speak is a tall order -- and you passed with flying colors.

By the way, it gets easier, the more you do it. A little thrill of fear, and excitement, never goes away, but it can even reach the point of being fun to do.

It is a wonderful skill to have, and it will give you more confidence in everything you do. Keep it up!
