You thought it was a bad idea to show The Golden Compass at Christmas time? I have another little anti-Christian gem, made especially for the season: Noelle.

I read about it in our local pinko rag this morning. Here is the link (http://www.idahostatesman.com/moviereviews/story/231226.html).

The "critic's" breathless gushing starts like this:

We've come to expect the pious, the warm and the sentimental from the recent run of films aimed at the Christian moviegoer. But that has typically made for pretty bland cinema.

"Noelle" is the first movie in this genre to add wit to the recipe. It's clever, well-acted and almost-but-not-quite edgy.

This holiday film is set in a dying Catholic parish on Cape Cod and asks hard questions about abstinence, abortion, misuse of church funds and alcohol abuse. (Yeah, I can only imagine what those questions are) It has Catholic priests behaving badly.
No, not that badly.

Ah, the makers of this little gem managed to restrain themselves, I see. Of course, the question is did they do it to avoid offending the church ... or GLAAD and NAMBLA?

And it dares to be funny.

Here's an example of the brilliant wit that has the "critic" in stitches:

Noelle's amusing bits come from the casting sessions, gags about old guys who play the Wise Men not being able to kneel. They've had knee replacements.

Wow. Now that's what I call genuine groundbreaking humor. Old men impersonating old men who cannot kneel because of knee replacements. How come no one thought of that before?

I'd better stop laughing before I pop a blood vessel.

... Father Keene suggests they jazz up the Christmas creche. Make the Nativity scene on the front lawn a live-action one this year.

-----
And the film's heart comes from the efforts to talk local librarian Marjorie (Kerry Brennan) into playing the Virgin Mary. "I don't believe in virgin birth," she says. The shock here is Father Keene's willingness to agree with her on this and many other things.

But of course! What could send a more Christian message about the true meaning of Christmas than a (Catholic) priest who does not believe that Jesus was born of a virgin.

How shocking! How daring! How bloody marvelous for all lefties and Christophobes!

Noelle's story unfolds in a time-worn way. But Wall, who seriously plays up his resemblance to a young Robert Redford (now there's a ringing endorsement), has filmed a visually striking and brisk holiday film, one that manages to be sweet and yet light on the sugar at the same time.
<!-- YAHOO CONTENT MATCH COMPONENT -->

Yeah, I bet.

Guys, let's forget for a moment that this ... film takes place in a Catholic parish. Christmas is for all Christians. And although I will agree that the latest "comic" Christmas films have been - how shall I put it? - idiotic, at best, that's besides the point. The point is that this is another attempt to undermine Christianity ... during the very time that commemorates the birth of our Lord. And this time, the director doesn't even bother to dissemble. No presenting it as fantasy. No wrapping it up in glittering special effects. No. Let's give it to the stupid bastards (e.i. Christians - you and me, dears) without anesthetic this time. They deserve it, bloody superstitious morons.

Anyway. Just thought I'd share that with you. Coming to a theatre near you.

Oh, did I mention that the same jerk lavishes praises (http://www.idahostatesman.com/moviereviews/story/231219.html)on The Golden Compass? Notice if you will that he titles his "review" Keeping the Faith,
and ends up sneering

Of course, the film most easily invites comparisons to "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe." The C.S. Lewis book and the film based on it have some of the same situations and themes - a sneaky, icy villainess; violence against children; a coming war between darkness and light - but in the guise of Christian propaganda. (As opposed to TGC, which of curse is NOT anti-Christian propaganda) "Compass," as any Catholic League member or church chain-emailer can tell you, is "anti-Church," based on the books of a self-described atheist.

Yep. It's that time of year again, when assorted lefties and Christophobic Grinches crawl from under their slimy rocks to vent their hatred for Christianity, and to try to ruin the most wonderful time of the year for the rest of the world.

Merry Christmas, everyone.

These are the last days. Be ready. When we least expect it, the Father will say, "Son, go bring My children home!" (http://members.aol.com/sweet3fawn/SonGoBringMyChildrenHome.wav)

Verse 1:
I can hear a distant cry
Shouting out the time is nigh
As the father tells His Son
Work on earth this day is done

Chorus 1 :
Son go bring My children home
For I want them gathered
‘Round My throne
It’s time to reap
The harvest You have sown
Son, go bring My children home

Verse 2:
What a joy to see His face
In His arms we will embrace
Never more we’ll have to roam
For we’ve finally made it home

Chorus 2 :
Son, go bring My children home
For I want them gathered
‘Round My throne
It’s time to reap
The harvest You have sown
Son go bring My children home
It’s time to reap
The harvest You have sown
Son go bring My children home
Son go bring My children home.

And you know what, Doc? I'm ready anytime He is. Sometimes I just get SO tired, so bloody fed up with having to constantly battle these people.

The worst part is that the vast majority of people just don't give a damn. As long as they are "entertained," fine by them. You try to warn somebody about these films. I can already hear their answer: "Aw, c'mon. It's just a fantasy ... Kids don't care ... They won't even notice ... Stop being such a Scrooge ... I don't mix religion with entertainement ... Do you expect us not to go to the cinema ever again?!"
