My thanks to the Rottweiler (http://www.nicedoggie.net/2007/) for linking this at his site..
Have you ever been to the airport, shopping mall, other public place and happened to see some service members? Have you wanted to say, "Thank You!", but were in a hurry, or felt awkward, or just weren't sure exactly what to say?
Maybe this will help..

Here's a link (http://www.gratitudecampaign.org/fullmovie.php) to the site that started it all.
It means so much to them just to know that we care. Tell them!
:thankyou: :soldier: :patriot:

What is even nicer, my husband said the Iraqi's would do it when they saw them come thru. That is very similar to the gesture they use for thank you. They touch their heart, my husband said to them it means with honor.
We were at a rest stop once when my husband was in uniform and a woman rolled down her window and said thank you ... then drove on. :mushy:

I didn't know that was symbolic of "thank you." I will keep it mind when I see one who serves next time.

Do the people in the military know what it means? This is the first I've heard of it, and I still travel in military circles to some degree.

I saw a bumper sticker saying something to the extent of being a parent of a vet when went to the doctor. I went out of my way to tell her thanks & your son's a hero. I honor him. She was left speachless. I live in San Jose, CA. on the LEFT COAST. We have a overabundance of ungrateful LIBERALS here that don't thank their PROTECTORS for nothing.

Wonderful idea! I make it a point to approach our troops, when I see them in public, to shake their hand and simply say, "Thanks for your service. I'm proud of you." Most are surprised, but all appreciate it. It's the least we can do.
Don't know if others see me do this...nor do I care. It's not for them and it's not for me (well, maybe in a small way it is), it's so those who proudly and selflessly serve so we can enjoy our freedom feel appreciated and that their sacrifice is recognized by someone.

I can't remember who/where but someone said we should just sell CA to canada or some other country because really nothing of value is there just some conservatives and beaches which would be re-located lol. And we need to get rid of michigan too! Theres only 1 good thing there don't know if anyones heard or not but some university professor stood up against the islamic riots and said stuff that really was moving to me and made them think twice even though they don't know how to say much of anything.

How about a compromise? We keep Michigan, but dump Detroit in the lake.

Can't do it Rhino. Water pollution, ya know.

Can't do that either. We tried, and lost the bid. We had to keep Dearborn. The same thing happened with Toledo, but Michigan won that one and Ohio had to keep tootle-d-do.
And MSU was the one that set the Cyahuga River on fire in downtown Cleveland.:D
