How do you guys post the video directly onto the post? I'm only capable of posting the link, not the actual video.

On some video sites (not all) you'll find a link that you can copy called an "embed" link. Youtube has theirs on the upper right, just below the video description. Ifilm's is also on the right.

To 'embed' the video into the forums here or elsewhere, just cut and paste the entire command line in that embed link.

It'll look something like..

(object width height etc)(param= "something")

Just copy that Entire line and paste it here inside a post. You don't have to select any tags like you would when inserting picture links, just paste it right onto the text area.

It'll look funny in your edit section, but if you hit 'preview post' you should see the video show up.

Well, if you are using the full WYSIWYG editor, it wont work. You need to go into your control panel on the web site here, and edit your options. Select the Standard editor.

Once you save those settings, on the Youtube page, to the right of the video you are watching will be a box that is labeled "Embed" and the dialog window will have a long string of HTML code in it. Just right click inside that box and click on Select All, and then right click on the highlighted code again and select copy.

Once you have it copied to the clipboard, come back to the forums, and in the post you are editing, just right click and paste the code. That will embed the video into your post.

If your mouse is screwing up like mine is (it's old) you can always left click and drag on all the code to highlight it all manually and use the CTRL+C to copy it to the clipboard and then CTRL+V to paste the clipboard contents into your post.
