YES! Indiana Jones 4 with Harrison Ford. And Rambo. Finally!
The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0859163/)
I have high hopes for this one. The last two actually weren't THAT bad as some people thought. I enjoyed them... but I realized that they were merely entertainment, I never expected them to win awards.

Likewise. I enjoyed both of the previous Mummy movies (despite the critics), but I wasn't pleased to see that Rachel Weisz will not be returning as Evelyn. Maria Bello is listed instead in that role. I don't think she'll do a bad job necessarily, but it just won't feel the same.

My list:
5. Hellboy II: The Golden Army (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0411477/)
4. Get Smart (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0425061/)
3. Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0367882/)
2. Star Trek (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0796366/)
1. The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqzYukVDqy4) (I predict 5 apples!)
I saw a trailer for Hancock (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448157/) on HotAir.com ... It actually looked kind of interesting. I'd want to know more about it though. It's probably a "wait-til-it-comes-out-on-DVD" movie for me though. I'm usually chomping at the bit for a good Bond Flick too, but I don't like the new Bond at all http://www.freeconservatives.com/vb/images/icons/shake000.gif. Might get it from the rental place when it comes out (saw the last one because my son rented it).

It isn't bad enough that we have to be tormented with yet ANOTHER "comic book super hero brought to the big screen", but does it HAVE to be Batman AGAIN!?!?!
Hollywood is nothing but a long stream of hack job jokes. Writers strike my ass... writers have been on strike for at least 30 years now, because it's been AT LEAST that long since anything that can be considered remotely "original" has come out of that cesspool.
A new Superman, yet ANOTHER Batman, Ironman, 3 X-Men, 3 Spiderman flicks, Fantastic For... Anyone want to make a prediction how long it will be before Wonder Woman, Aqua Man, and The Wonder Twins show up to this queer ass, tights clad party?
Frankly, I hope the opening day has this new Batman flick going down faster than Elton John at a Boy-Scout jamboree.

That is beyond any point. I don't care if it's Darker, Lighter, Heavier, Rounder, louder, Quieter, or Purpler with Bigger Fuzzy Tickle Spots. It's a BATMAN movie. Let me correct that... it's ANOTHER BATMAN movie.
Where is the originality? I saw a preview last night, a new horror movie coming out...
"You get a text message on your cell phone... you hear your own death... then you die! Coming soon! ONE MISSED CALL!"
Hmmm where did I see that premise before... "You watch a video tape... you get a phone call... AND YOU DIE!"
I think a new law should be passed, that anyone attempting to pass off a "cloned movie" whether a blatant act (like yet another Batman movie) or a subtle attempt (One Missed Call), the public should have the right to find the actors, producers, and anyone involved with the "travesty" and just beat the shit out of them in the street. We could amend the law to include the excessive use of Sequals... what are we on now... Friday The 13th Part 28, Jason Takes A F**king Break?

And the Rocky movies haven't stopped. There was a new one released just last year.
Rocky Balboa (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0479143/).
And for them to say it's the End to the Rocky Movies, that's a load of crap.... he had a Son.
And I seem to recall a movie called "Nightmare On Elm Street: Freddy's Dead - The Final Nightmare". And there's been several "Nightmare" movies SINCE that one. Along with a number of Jason Vs Freddy movies.
We'll probably learn soon that Apollo Creed had a daughter, and Rocky Jr.s gonna knock her up. They'll have a mixed marriage, and he'll carry on the family fighting tradition.
Never forget Hollywood's willingness to milk every penny possible out of a movie.

I saw "I am Legend" in IMAX tonight, and if you see it in IMAX, they show an eight minute scene from the next Batman movie. I'm looking forward to it.
Anyway, these are the movies from this year that I still want to see:
"There Will Be Blood"
"Juno"
"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street"
"Walk Hard"
"Charlie Wilson's War"
and possibly "Atonement"

Yeah, I have to say the last rendition of Batman was the best ever in my opinion. After the ones starring Michael Keaton the films became nothing short of a travesty being little more than high-budget power rangers-type flicks. Batman Begins brought back realism and respectability to my favorite comic character. I look forward to this one as well.
There are also a few video games I'd like to see made into movies. If any of you have ever played the first Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic, the plot twist of that game was fantastic (better than any of the existing movies IMO), and would make for a great film.
The game Mass Effect also has a great storyline. Once I got to the end and the Prothean VI explains how their empire fell to the Reapers, I thought it was one of the best thought out plots ever, all of the pieces fitting together so perfectly (one of the few times I wasn't left with any real questions about how and why in a story).
I'd love to see a Halo movie as well (supposedly Peter Jackson, the man behind The Lord of The Rings films, is entertaining the idea).
I'm worried they'll just ruin them though. Hollywood seems to have a knack for taking great video game plots and turning them into absolute shight on the bigscreen.

That's a great game, I install and play it still every now and then. A lot of people criticized the second one, Knights Of The Old Republic II - The Sith Lords, but I think that one was just as good, if not a tiny bit better. The ability to train your companions to become Jedi as well, and it has an improved system for modding your gear and weapons. Building light sabers was a little more detailed and you have more options in the second game for them.
I kind of liked the story line in the Jedi Knight series too, but when they started running you through the Academy, it began to get a bit cheesy.
There's a few other good games that could transfer well to the screen if done right.
Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines is a good game. Very dark, and fairly gory, but an incredible plot and story line. The first time I played it I thought it would make a great movie, and would transfer well to a television series if done right.
Then the other day I was channel surfing, and I stumbled across a TV show on the Sci-Fi channel, it was called "Kindred" so I started watching it. They showed one character that claimed to be the "prince" of the city. The vampires were being instructed to "take only what you need to survive, and nothing more" when feeding, etc. After a while I was convinced that it was Vampire: Bloodlines made into a TV series. It was a COMPLETE disappointment. The people that did it just butchered (no pun) the game completely. They turned it into a Daytime Soap Opera. It sucked (again no pun intended), and I was quite disappointed.
Another good game is Anachronox. It's a Sci Fi, space RPG/FPS Good story, funny dialog, above average voice acting as far as games go. Though I don't know how well it would transfer to the screen. But if your looking for a game of that type, and enjoy laughing while you play it, Anachronox is definitely worth the disk space. Through out the game you collect T.A.C.O.'s They're little gold trophies with a taco at the top that you find at various locations. It stands for Totally Arbitrary Collectible Objects. But they are just one of the many little "side quests" that do not advance the story.
I just recently managed to get a copy of Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption, which is the prequel to Bloodlines. I was very disappointed in that one. Bloodlines was far better. Both story line and game play in Redemption was horribly lacking.
Another good one, an RPG/FPS (heavy on the FPS aspect) is Area 51. The original one. They recently came out with Area 51: Blacksite which looks good and I'll try it soon, but the first one has David Duchovney (X-Files) and a few other recognizable names doing the voice acting. The credits also listed Marylin Manson doing some voice work in it, but after playing it a few times, I don't recognize what part he played. It has a pretty good plot, and the story flows pretty well. The only problem with it is that for as many cut scenes as there are, the narration gives far too little of the story. To get the entire story you have to constantly find safe areas where you can sit and read through top secret documents you find at various locations through the game. And read your logs for results of scans that you take of bodies, virus, etc. But the action is good, and if you take the time to read everything, the story is pretty good too. It would make a good movie, but there's not nearly enough there to expect to see it as a series.

One way to stop the movie mobius strip would be to stick all of them in one room; Rambo, Rocky(its possible for the same character now with CGI), Steven Segal, Arnold, Batman, Michael Myers, Jason and even Chucky. Then, only one of them can walk out alive. A fight to the death.
You sit in a lawn chair outside smoking a cigar while waiting for the screams to subside. And whoever opens the door to walk out, the final victor of the glorious battle to the death, you indiscriminately unload a dozen rounds of exploding hollow tips right into their chest. This will only work for a little while (since bullets are merely like being tasered for movie antagonists) so you will have to hurry up and fire up your chainsaw, then separate their head from their shoulders. Now, to ensure that no more part 9, 10, 11 and 12s are made you must take the head and run it through a wood chipper. Now quickly do the same for the body, right into the chipper. Then individually wrap each shredded piece of movie hero after cyrogenically freezing them in Reynold's wrap then duct tape shut.
Count how many pieces you have, say, 297. Rent 297 Public Storage Units and place each piece in one. Then lock the roll up door shut with a steel hardened Masterlock.
There shouldn't be any more movies after that... hopefully.

There shouldn't be any more movies after that... hopefully.
While a good suggestion in theory, unfortunately it would never work.
Because there will be some asshole with a camcorder behind a bush, and next thing you know, the act itself will become a friggin Lifetime Made For TV Movie Of The Week, and some Hollywood Asshat with a briefcase will hire some out of work hack writer to adapt it for the Big Screen.
Wyatt_Junker
12-22-2007, 06:37 PM
Aha. You didn't let me finish. You were behind me, to my left sitting in the balcony wearing ninja duds for this very reason. Righteous backup.
You saw the camcorder wielding hack as luck would have it. And as I was attending to the corpse, making sure it would never rise again, you were going old school on the paparazzi in the bushes. Throwing knives, zip zip zip one to the temple, one to the back of the knee and one to the crotch. Then, its stealth kempo moves to the head and neck until the camcorder falls out of hand and hits the marble staircase.
You add him to shredder afterward.
Problem solved.
Gonzo67
12-22-2007, 06:58 PM
Ok.... but what do we do about his secretary? She has his whole itinerary on zip disk in the office, and she knew where he was going to be every second. Then there's all the yuppies in the local StarBucks who saw him alive and on his way to the scene. They know him well because he stops in every day for a half and half double decaf mocha-latte' grande. So when he fails to show up for the afternoon iced mochachino bruncheon, they'll immediately file a missing persons report.
Meanwhile, his company, suffering the loss of revenue he would have brought in with this movie will have to report low earnings to their share-holders. This will spark an inquiry into the asshats where-abouts, and the street will get flooded with Paparazzi looking for witnesses who might have seen his disappearance.
Unable to find witnesses to harass, the Paparazzi will start rumors that Leonardo DiCaprio and O.J. have both been seen in the vicinity, the latter wielding a rather large butchers knife, and the next thing you know, 20 cop cars are chasing a white ford bronco down a dirt road. Helicopters over head showing the whole 32 MPH chase screaming down a dirt road, ending tragically in a fiery crash in Farmer Bob's corn field where, sadly, 3 chickens and a squirrel who was only there because of a domestic dispute with a raccoon hooker and her possum pimp, all meet a tragic, and unexpected end when the cops, mistaking them for illegal rodents from Tijuana, beat them to death.
This all ends up on the news, and we're forced to relive this traumatic ordeal every day from 6pm to 8:30 (with coverage and film at 11) for the next 2 months until the highly publicized trial which results in a lot of heated exchanges, but ultimately, no convictions. Sparking mass riots by PETA and protesters screaming "If the fur's smashed to shit, you must acquit!"
And this will all finally result in Hollywood having yet another 45 to 50 years worth of Will Smith / Tommy Lee Jones collaborations, and countless sequels.
