I just watched The Simpsons Movie for the first time and I was taken by surprise at it. It was actually good and it had a sort of a conservative leaning in it.
I shouldn't have been surprised, the creator, Matt Groening is a Christian (http://www.markpinsky.com/indexA.htm (http://www.markpinsky.com/indexA.htm)).
The evil characters in this movie is the EPA. Apparently, Governator has become president and has approved putting a dome over Springfield because the city has the biggest carbon footprint. This is all thanks to Homer Simpson for dumping a huge thing of Pig Crap in to a lake.
What I don't get is why people claim this show is evil. Some of my friends claim it's anti-Christian. Really? Why not observe the elements of the Simpsons:
Marge and Homer Simpson have been married and still remain on their first marriage and don't sleep around on eachother.
The family goes to church every Sunday.
The show really isn't politically correct, they dare to say that Jesus *gasp* is the reason for Christmas.

I could list other things, but you know, that would take too long.
I wouldn't let anyone under 9 watch it, it's really crude. But The Simpsons has a conservative Christian meaning in it. I highly recommend this film for anyone who needs to laugh at the EPA and Warmers (I almost had a heart attack when Lisa performed "An Irratating Truth").
Do you believe The Simpsons are evil and anti-Christian?

I like the simpsons, but the show is generally left-wing and recent seasons play along with the typical liberal stereotypes when it comes to portrayals of Bush, patriotism, social conservatism.

They bash everyone and everything. But I think some liberal writers have gotten on to the show, so maybe that's the reason why it's like that now.

Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Groening#Personal_life) (take everything with a grain of saltipedia) says that he is a self-professed agnostic and often contributes to Democrat Candidates..

Not to dispute your take on the movie, TR (I Haven't seen it).. But from my experience with both of his television series' (Simpsons and Futurama) as well as the comic strip he used to pen, "Life In Hell", Matt Groening strikes me as Anything but friendly towards Conservatives and Christians. :smirky:
