‘Meet the Press’ transcript for Dec. 23, 2007

Representative Ron Paul (R-TX), John Harwood and Chuck Todd

-- snip --

MR. RUSSERT: How many troops do we have overseas right now?

REP. PAUL: I don't know the exact number, but more than we need. We don't need any.

MR. RUSSERT: It's 572,000.

:rotflmbo:

MR. RUSSERT: So if Iran invaded Israel, what do we do?

REP. PAUL: Well, they're not going to. That is like saying "Iran is about to invade Mars." I mean, they have nothing. They don't have an army or navy or air force. And Israelis have 300 nuclear weapons. Nobody would touch them. But, no, if, if it were in our national security interests and Congress says, "You know, this is very, very important, we have to declare war." But presidents don't have the authority to go to war.

Maybe numbnuts should hire the gentleman who wrote this article on Iran's military strength (http://www.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idUSBLA55541520071107) before he shot off his mouth!

What a tool!!

I think you are a bit over-excited. I found that the interview went very well. This was one of the very few (if not the only) real "Hardball" shows. Chris should show this determination with all the candidates. For some reason, he had it out for Ron.

But it's all good because I thought Ron couldn't have answered any better.

Not only is Ron Paul a liar, be he is also totally ignorant. Or senile. Or insane. He is by far the least qualified candidate for president from either party. He is so bad he even makes Kucinich look good by comparison.

Heh, you do know that RuPaul is still considering Dennis K for his running mate (Straight Jacket Party?):

Hillary Clinton's people cried over her interview with Tim (not "Chris") Russert, too. He's written a very good non-political book, btw - and I agree that he drove this point home:

I’m not a Russert fan, but this time, he really did expose the Paul campaign as nothing more than rhetoric. Paul panders to a certain type of individual using fear wrapped in the flag. One can hope that his supporters will begin to look beyond the rhetoric. We’d like to have their energy behind a real conservative candidate.

He's no Ross Perot, and this isn't 1992:

In the most recent Rasmussen Poll (http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=59342) taken after the Iowa debates, Ron Paul was the most unpopular declared candidate in America today.

Only 10 percent of likely voters (regardless of party affiliation) stated that they would “definitely consider voting for Ron Paul.” 48 percent said that they “definitely would NEVER consider voting for Ron Paul.”

Even Hillary Clinton, the most disliked and distrusted female in America, polled better with 30 percent FOR and 47 percent AGAINST.

Two negatives make a positive.

He is by far the least qualified candidate for president from either party Um, that would be Hillary. Not only has she never done anything, but she hides behind Bill every time something comes up, which is all the time.

Why is Ron Paul called RuPaul?

Ummmm...it was Meet the Press, not Harball and Tim Russert did the interview, not Chris Matthews.

But it's all good because I thought Ron couldn't have answered any better.
I don't think you can think at all...at least according to the first part of your response.

Couldn't have answered any better? How about have some semblance of a CLUE how many troops were overseas? (Even *I* knew the number to be in the half-million range). How about he had a clue about the duties of the President? Who, by the way, CAN engage our military for 2 years at a time without Congressional approval. That Pres. Bush RECEIVED said approval BEFORE invading Iraq (with RP's affirmative vote, I might add) speaks volumes to the character of the man (RP).

Why is Ron Paul called RuPaul? To insult RuPaul?
