I watched Bill Oreilly's Fox Special: Journey to Afghanistan.

I am usually extremely critical of O'Reilly. But on this special I was extremely impressed. Except that bimbo blonde, Megan Kelly, put Col. David Hunt on the spot forcing him to put our troops in Afghanistan in a bad light. She has the same arrogance & self-righteousness as Riley does. Riley was highly OVER critical of this one American NATO leader, Maj. Gen David Rodriquez, in Afghanistan. He is promoed as a great supporter of our troops. I saw very little of this when he talked to Rodriguez & the other American NATO general.

But this special made OUTRIGHT FLAT LIARS out of the LEFT WING HATE AMERICA media. All of the troops on this special called the LAME stream media LIARS. I was made very PROUD of our troops in the middle east. If I wasn't so old (54) with all kinds of health problems I would go today. I would wait until HerWaldo went again & oops, dead HerWaldo, lol. But, these troops seem to be a whole lot better outfitted than we were in Nam.

(BTW if you are curious about the math, my age & Vietnam, I arrived in Nam 2 mos. after my 18th yr. in Aug. 1971).

Namvet,

First off, thank you for serving your country!

I, too, saw the show and was glad O'Reilly went to Afghanistan to give us more insight into the sacrifices our troops are making. I am thankful to them everyday! O'Reilly is also gonna try work to get more people over there to entertain those troops.

This Afghan special should be required watching for all our schools instead of the INsensitivity training & liberal indoctrination they are doing.

I appreciate the thanks. I definitely do not expect it. The people who really deserve thanks "gave their all." It is good to FINALLY be proud of being a Nam Vet. Maybe 30 yrs late. But better late than never. I spent most of my life embarrassed for being a Nam vet.

You made your sacrifices as well and I'm damned sorry and ashamed that you and all the Vietnam Veterans did not get the support and welcome home they so richly deserved, and that you were made to feel that way about serving your country. Everyday is give-thanks-to-our-vets day to me. Thanks again.

BTW, did you know that more celebs have been to visit Hugo Chavez than our troops in Afghanistan? That's just sad. :ooo:
