Why is Ron Paul called RuPaul? To insult RuPaul? What did RuPaul do to deserve that deprecation?

Why is Ron Paul called RuPaul?

Fox, since no one dared to really answer your question, I suppose it's time for me to step in again.

The simple answer is that name-calling is a far simpler method of attempting to discredit one's opponent, versus having to actually think out a responsible answer and argue points of difference logically.

Name-calling has the additional attraction of being "gossip" and as Jesus said, should never be practiced by those claiming to be his followers. Liberals and neo-cons resort to it all the time, so you should not be surprised to see it around here quite often. It is the favorite device of brainless and narrow-minded individuals.

Watch closely. You're about to see what I mean.

FTW

Actually; when said candidate votes against recognizing my brothers and sisters in arms and his followers still openly support said candidate, the ad hominem attacks just become an outlet. Doesn't have anything to do with the intelligence or open mindedness of any set group...unless you happen to wonder across the vile garbage that resonates from the typical board that supports the candidate named in this particular thread!!

gg, so you're saying "RuPaul" is name-calling, as in "asshole"?

Well of course, DF! Might I mention, however, that there is a considerable difference between habitual name-calling and being provoked to a point of anger. The difference between habitual behaviour and the occasional outburst. (Please see Luc's excellent post above by way of explanation.)

Even the board's owner recently reminded us all that the language around here has gotten a bit far-flung from what good behaviour would suggest.

In short, we all could stand to tighten up our act(s) around here.

Thanks for asking. YMMV, etc.

I guess we should apologize to RuPaul. It is very insulting.

Fox, we call him Rupaul because we know that pisses the Rupaulies off royally. Then they get all high 'n mighty, and start talking about name-calling, and about arguing point logically, and all that. Imagine that, a Rupaulie talking about logic.

It's hilarious!

Because childish personal attacks are considered intelligent discussion here Tell ya what, asshole: You just go somewhere else and I won't ban your ignorant ass. I don't like you one bit, you and your sneering juvenile attitude of superiority over people who have outachieved you in the world and, before that, in academia. Every regular here is smarter than you, more experienced than you and more educated than you. You're in way over your head. Leave and don't come back.

Well, when one considers who and what they are directed at, it's actually quite fitting. :smirky: Since 98% of it is located/directed in this forum, I will let you play Blue's Clues....

No name calling. Just stating a FACT. But self-righteous arrogant hypocritical individuals like you can not tell the difference. Everything you disagree with you belittle. You sound more like a LIBERAL than anything else.

BTW I call him Ru Paul cuz for fun, for one, & for another they are both a couple of LIBERAL LUNATICS.

If you want to quote Jesus,"Those without sin cast the first stone..." Jesus also talked very badly about HYPOCRITES. Jesus called the Pharisees all kinds of names, like HYPOCRITE & SONS OF THE DEVIL. Before you start falsely quoting the Bible know what you are quoting. A lot of us know the Bible very well.

You are just as guilty of NAME CALLING as all those you blame. You belittle this forum and everyone in it.

Just because someone disagrees with you on the issue of the Iraq War does not necessarily mean they are "liberal".

I'd be willing to bet you agree with Ron on every other issue aside from the war.
