Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

Sunday, December 30, 2007

For the first time all year, Arizona Senator John McCain finds himself on top with support from 17% of Likely Republican Primary Voters. In the muddled GOP race, McCain becomes the third person to top the poll this month and the fourth since October. But his lead is statistically insignificant--Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee are just a point behind at 16% and Rudy Giuliani is two points back at 15%. Slightly off the pace, but still within five points of McCain, is Fred Thompson at 12%. Ron Paul retains his base support at 7%.

It's a horse race and they haven't even entered turn one. I don't know how many of those old horses can go the distance, though.

In my book, they all have major handicaps. If they aren't careful, they'll burn themselves and each other out, leaving nothing for the big race.

The surge is going to come on Super Tuesday... If Fred nails that one down, the rest of the field may as well close up shop...

Point taken! You will also see the money start to flow once the race becomes more stable.

The confusing factor isn't the other candidates, but the MSM.

Fox News reporter from Iowa said Republicans are unhappy with their candidates, while Democrats are very happy with their choices. I don't the the Republican National Committee is happy with that message.

If the TraitorKKKrats are happy with their choices, a LIEING CUMMUNIST CROOK, a BLACK MUZLIM TERRORIST & a CORRUPT TRIAL LAWYER, then they have big problems.

Democrat4Rudy you are a DevilKKKrat, not to be believed in any way shape or form. When a cRAT is for someone I think what is wrong with that person? Do you have a link to this quote. I hope you do not mind, I don't believe you, you are a cRAT.

Not all reporters from Foxnews are conservatives, very few are. Besides everyone is making more out of this LEFT WING state called Iowa than it really is.

Okay, I am not saying this because I like the idea of it. But I am predicting the race is going to be between McCain and Edwards. I pray I am wrong, but I don't think many people see much difference between Rudy and McCain. And all of those people who were supporting Rudy and have found out about his cross dressing and many other undesirable traits are now switching to McCain. Since the Rudy crowd's only standards seem to be that they like whatever turd floats to the top and now he's sinking. My fear is that is going to help McCain enough to get the nomination.

McCain is a political traitor. He is a fellow Nam vet & I DETEST the RINO. He can't live on his POW forever. I don't know where you get you numbers but I know of no REAL REPUBLICANS that care for this TAX RAISING ANTI FREE SPEACH RINO.

Elections always prove POLLS to be wrong.

:deadhorse: We used to have a Giuliani supporter among our ranks, & the only reasons she gave for supporting him were basically just that.

Used to?

As soon as the media says he can beat Hillary that's all McCain will need to get their support. Apparently it's already happening because Rudy is going way down and McCain is going way up. It appears those who don't care if their candidate is conservative would take either one of them. And I will blame them if he is what we get. If they had supported a real conservative from the beginning Thompson would be doing better, instead they want to cuddle with the libs and I fear that is what we are going to get.

What in the hell are these voters thinking about?

Why John "I am a RHINO rambo" McCain?

It find it amazing that Fred Thompson is not being considered their first choice.McCain considered more favorably than Thompson.?

What in the hell are these voters thinking about?

Phantom Electability... They aren't looking at the big picture and completely ignoring the dynamics of a full 9 month campaign by a conservative candidate like FDT. They are only looking at who they think can beat Hitlery head to head right this minute.

If the first primary were held in the South the entire dynamics of this primary season would be considerably different. New bumper sticker... Iowa is for Idiots :smirky:

Your style reminds me of someone, can't think of it now. Are you Madbomber using a new screen name on a different computer? I would bet an administrator could tell just from your key strike pattern.

However, be that as it may, what would lead you to conclude I care about what you believe? It is interesting to see what pushes your button though.

McCain takes lead in national poll

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Sen. John McCain returned to Iowa on Wednesday to launch a last-minute campaign blitz before tonight's presidential caucuses, buoyed by a new national poll that has him leading the Republican field.

The Arizonan finds himself in a far stronger position in Iowa than most political analysts would have thought possible even a few weeks ago. He is hoping to do well enough to give his presidential comeback a liftoff.

<!-- BOXAD TABLE --> The caucuses could provide helpful momentum going into next Tuesday's primary in New Hampshire, McCain's strongest state.

Anyone else find this a bit peculiar?

Six months ago Giuliani was the one. He was seemingly unbeatable. Three months ago, Fred was the one and he hadn't even declared his intention to run. One month ago Huckabee was the one, and shot up in the polls seemingly overnight.

Now that Huckabee has been slapped down with countless allegations of scandal, we are seeing McCain shoot up in the polls, again seemingly overnight.

Seriously... I have never seen primary polls so volatile. While I can't bring myself to believe that there is somebody behind all this, I do question whether or not the MSM is pimping whatever candidates they can... only to find the voters rejecting them.

I just find it really peculiar, especially with Huckabee shooting up from basically zero in the polls to competing with Romney. Now this is happening to McCain. I just don't get it. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Just like I said, Rudy has so many personal issues people are repulsed by and some folks only learned about them recently and when they did they defected to the next nearest Rino thus McCain goes up ... Rudy goes down. It has also helped McCain that he has been right about a troop surge being needed in Iraq and he's said it from the beginning. As for Huckabee I don't know why he shot up, but I expect it to be short lived.
