Anti-Military Lawyer Damages Marine's Car on Eve of Deployment (http://www.blackfive.net/main/2007/12/anti-military-l.html)

This ought to make your blood boil. And this Marine should receive a commendation for not kicking the living crap out of the guy...seriously.

Marine Sgt Mike McNulty is on activation orders to Iraq (second tour). On December 1st, 2007, Mike went to visit a friend in Chicago before deploying to say goodbye.

< snip , snip >

While saying goodbye, at about 11am, he noticed a man leaning up against his car. Mike left his friend's apartment and caught the man keying his car on multiple sides.

The Marine filed charges, turned out the damages cost so much it could be a felony. The State's Attorney's Office tried to coerce the marine into accepting the lawyer paying his deductible and making his (the marine's!) insurance company pay for it!

That may be the understatement of the year.

What state attorney general would this be? The Marine should get a realy good lawyer and sue everyone in sight - Especially the State in question... This is clearly a case of misuse of power... :flame::flame::flame:

That guy is sooo lucky both his legs are still useful. If I had seen that being done to my car...his face would look like garbage on NYC side street in the middle of July on hot afternoon.

BTW.... that is some really nasty stuff if you have never seen or smelled it.

Bwahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh DF! LOL

OMG thats what I had to do with one of my aunts Christmas Eve. She is one those liberals... who, to their credit "mean well", but dont have a clue. She went on and on about this guy who screwed himself in the ass by selling drugs, and she wanted to blame his screw up on the system, and rich people.

Liberals are born, random defects of evolution like a 47th chromosome. Some actually overcome it, but most die convinced the world is an evil right wing conspiracy.

I was at a Christmas party recently when a leftie starting going on and on about WMD's and how Bush is to blame for everything. I said, "You want some cheese with that whine?" She was clueless.

Well, Mike wasn't completely innocent either.

Mike, being a Marine, overcame and adapted by driving around the block to the other end of the street and backing up all the way to his friend's place.

Park and walk. Seriously.

The attorney should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, be disbarred, and have all vehicles in his name destroyed.

I live by three simple rules:
1) I will not be dishonored.
2) I will not be lied to.
3) I will not be wronged.

I honestly would have pounded that little twit into the ground without a second thought and no, I wouldn't have cared about the ensuing assault charge. I think Sgt. McNulty let him off light.

Hate crime if there ever was one.

My very first thought.

HERE (http://www.iardc.org/ldetail.asp?id=317036748) is Jay Grodner's page at the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission.

Seems this clown has been in trouble with the state bar before. I would love for this to face some more license trouble. I have been looking at Illinois's Rules of Professional Conduct (http://www.state.il.us/court/SupremeCourt/Rules/Art_VIII/ArtVIII.htm) (""RPC," the ethics rules governing lawyers). While the Preamble sounds good,

The practice of law is a public trust. Lawyers are the trustees of the system by which citizens resolve disputes among themselves, punish and deter crime, and determine their relative rights and responsibilities toward each other and their government. Lawyers therefore are responsible for the character, competence and integrity of the persons whom they assist in joining their profession...for maintaining public confidence in the system of justice by acting competently and with loyalty to the best interests of their clients; by working to improve that system to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing society; and by defending the integrity of the judicial system against those who would corrupt, abuse or defraud it.

When you get into the text of the Rules, there isn't much I can hang my hat on to deal with this. The closest rule is RPC 8.4(a)(3):

Rule 8.4 Misconduct

(a) A lawyer shall not:
(1) violate or attempt to violate these Rules;
(2) induce another to engage in conduct, or give assistance to another’s conduct, when the lawyer knows that conduct will violate these Rules;
(3) commit a criminal act that reflects adversely on the lawyer’s honesty, trustworthiness or fitness as a lawyer in other respects;
(4) engage in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation;

Sounds like Grodner is still hiding. His website (http://www.jaygrodner.com (http://www.jaygrodner.com/))is still down.

It ain't possible to reflect adversely on the honesty, trustworthiness or fitness of a lawyer. They ain't got none to begin with.

Moonbat (also "barking moonbat" and "moonbat crazy") is a term often used currently in U.S. politics as a political epithet referring to anyone that is liberal or on the left. ~ Wikipedia

First off, let me say that I am not overly fond of the term “moonbat,” but due to its acceptance into modern political parlance, I grudgingly use it on occasion. And this occasion definitely demands it.

Milblogger Blackfive broke the story of Marine Sgt. Mike McNulty (who returned to Camp Pendleton yesterday in preparation for his second tour of duty to Iraq), whose car was keyed last month:

On December 1st, 2007, Mike went to visit a friend in Chicago before deploying to say goodbye. In order to get to his friend's residence, and keep in mind that Chicago is a myriad of diagonal and one-way streets, the front entrance (right way) to the one-way street was blocked. Mike, being a Marine, overcame and adapted by driving around the block to the other end of the street and backing up all the way to his friend's place.

While saying goodbye, at about 11 a.m., he noticed a man leaning up against his car. Mike left his friend's apartment and caught the man keying his car on multiple sides.
