Number of Republicans in U.S. Increases in December to Two-Year High

The number of Americans who consider themselves to be Republicans jumped nearly two percentage points in December to 34.2%. That’s the largest market share for the Republican brand in nearly two years, since January 2006 (see history from January 2004 to present). (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/party_affiliation/party_affiliation/summary_of_party_affiliation)

At the same time, the number of Democrats fell to 36.3%. That’s down a point compared to a month ago (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america_archive/partisan_trends/partisan_identification_37_4_democrat_32_5_republi can). During 2007, the number of Democrats has ranged from a low of 35.9% in July to a high of 37.8% in February.

Good News Here (http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/party_affiliation/partisan_trends)

It represents a dramatic change from the previous five months when the gap favored Democrats by a margin between 4.5 and 4.9 percentage points each and every month.

It remains to be seen whether the Republican gains can last.

Lasting is the key...!!

Just a thought, could it be attributed to democrats re-registering Repubublican so they can influence the outcome of the Primaries?

 HomeschoolrsRUs, I don't think that would happen, unless the demonic rat nominee was pretty well decided. Imagine a lot of Swillary supporters voting in a Republican primary, only to find out that she lost to Edwards by only a few votes. They'd never forgive themselves.

Do the Democrats really care WHO their nominee is? Aren't they all equally as leftist, equally willing to pander to the special interest groups, equally prepared to damage the country in whichever way, shape, or manner they can? I don't see near as much (so-called) indecision amongst the Dems as seems to be present among the 'Pubs. I think they just want to defeat the Republican no matter what ... assuring the weakest or easiest to defeat on the Republican side seems like it would be much more appealing, because no matter who the Dem candidate is, they come out the winner.

 You might be surprised, but I really think they do. Some are probably quite passionate about it.

It kinda wouldn't surprise me, LP. It does seem as if Democreeps will use any and all tactics to shape the outcome of an election. In the past, we've heard of voting machines with votes already on them for a Democratic candidate and their repeated claims of election fraud.

Do the Democrats really care WHO their nominee is?No. Politically, ethically and morally they're clones, except for Denny, who's just visiting Earth.

'rats losing ground?? Doesn't surprise me...I wonder how many babies they've killed since roe v. wade were potential 'rat voters? 75%? Maybe higher?
