AFP via Yahoo! News - Jan 01 9:58 PM White House foes chased last undecided voters ahead of Thursday's dead-heat first nominating clashes in Iowa, as comeback Republican John McCain grabbed a new poll lead in the next key state, New Hampshire.

One thing he has going for him is he has said from the beginning we need more troops in Iraq, and that is working. There are lots of people who can be swayed by that enough to ignore all the bad stuff.
This scares me.

Not me. Except for Ron Paul, who's insane, nobody in the GOP pack will wreck the country.

This is true. But I would prefer Fred.

:moo: I agree with that assessment. And while I've said that I won't vote for Giuliani, I don't think he'll wreck the country, either. Other than him & Ron Paul, I'll support the Republican nominee.

Being that FDT is so high on all the 2nd choice polls, it give me hope for a 2nd place but no lower than 3rd place finish. But it is all about turnout!!

Ron Paul is a nutcase blustering in the wind...
John McCain will never win the nomination because once they hit the truely conservative states, his tiny little momentum will flag...
I can't take Romney seriously and although there is alot about Giuliani Im not crazy about he never really felt too threatening to me...
But Huckabee............... That man scares the living crap outta me... He is IMO the worst kind of RINO... One who smiles and dances around the key issues and pretends to be the heir to the throne of Reagan - And whn he get's his hands on the presidency we will see Phase 2 of the Nightmare from Arkansas... Under Huckabee we WILL see the Mexican invasion put down roots to stay, put their hands in our pockets, and destroy the America we were born in...
With McCain and Giuliani, and even Paul the nut, at least you know what you get... They don't deny who they are or what they stand for... Huckabee feels like a snake to me, and if there is anyone on the Republican ticket who I believe has the greatest potential for wrecking the country, it's Mike Huckabee...
I still believe that Fred is in a good position to win the nomination, and if he does, he'll win the Whitehouse... So Im not getting too nervous about any of the other possibilities... But if Huckabee wins the nomination, Im really going to be stuck for a decision as to what to do in the general election... For me Huckabee is at the bottom of the list - Worse than Romney, worse than Giuliani, worse than McCain (and I didn't believe I'd ever say that)...
Huckabee is the candidate that will split the Republicans... A lot of Reagan conservatives will avoid the Republican party in disgust and protest if he is nominated... And Im leaning strongly in that direction...
