This site gives me so much trouble when I try to access it. It's so frustrating that it just drives me crazy.
There are two ways I access this site. One way is by clicking the link I put on my Yahoo homepage that I use as my start page in Internet Explorer (my.yahoo.com)
The second way I access the site is to start to type it into my address bar and then finish it with auto-complete.
But with either way, there's a 50/50 chance that it might not work, that I'll get the blank white page with the message "the page cannot be displayed". Man that's so frustrating.
So I'll either hit my back button and try again, or I'll click the go button next to the address bar, or I'll close out my IE window and open up a new one and try again. Usually there's a pretty good chance that it might not work the second time too!
As I say, it's only a 50/50 chance that it won't work. So it's not as big a problem as it could be. Got any ideas of what could be wrong? This is a very slow computer (348 Mghz). Could that have anything to do with it? I'm just guessing here.

Thanks,
Barry

Very little chance a slow PC has anything to do with it. Even the slowest of PCs are faster than the internet. Is this the only site you have trouble with?

I think so, but I can't remember for sure. There might be sites I visit much less often, that give me trouble. This one is the only site I visit regularly that does. I can't figure it out. It's very odd. I had to try twice just now in order to get on. The same for when I got onto the site yesterday when I posted that.
P.S.- I breeze through it once I'm in.

Try logging off and deleting your cache (Temporary Internet) files.

I've actually tried that. It doesn't seem to make a bit of difference.
Just a few minutes ago it took more more than 10 tries to get in. I almost gave up. I thought I was just not going to be able to get in tonight.

I have an idea. There's a church website that seems to be down. But maybe not. Maybe I'm having the same problem with it as I have with FC, but worse. Here's the link. Let's see if anyone can get in. I know I can't:

And that one worked just fine for me...

It might be the server you're on. My school server doesn't like some websites that I visit, and just seems to make those sites appear to be "down," while in reality they're working just fine...

No problems here. Maybe an ISP problem?

Really? All y'all got in? No way. I haven't been able to get in in a few months. I just keep getting the white page that says "the page cannot be displayed". Shoot. I'm glad it's not down anyway. I don't know what the deal is here.
Here's a full copy-and-paste of the white page I get:

Please try the following:

Click the Refresh button, or try again later.

If you typed the page address in the Address bar, make sure that it is spelled correctly.

To check your connection settings, click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Connections tab, click Settings. The settings should match those provided by your local area network (LAN) administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).
If your Network Administrator has enabled it, Microsoft Windows can examine your network and automatically discover network connection settings.
If you would like Windows to try and discover them,
click Detect Network Settings
Some sites require 128-bit connection security. Click the Help menu and then click About Internet Explorer to determine what strength security you have installed.
If you are trying to reach a secure site, make sure your Security settings can support it. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options. On the Advanced tab, scroll to the Security section and check settings for SSL 2.0, SSL 3.0, TLS 1.0, PCT 1.0.
Click the Back button to try another link.

I'm on cable (Comcast Highspeed Internet). And I'm not on any network. LIke it says above I checked the connection security, and it is 128-bit. It's also not a secure site.

Update: Thursday evening I was looking at this site, and the church site I mentioned earlier, on my dad's computer. I didn't think too much of it, but I was definitely glad to see that that church's site is not down.

But I noticed since yesterday morning the problems I was having with this site have completely disappeared. Plus I can access that church's site now too. It loads right up instantly. I have no idea what happened, but everything is back to normal! Very weird! I'm curious to know what was wrong though.
Thanks,
Barry
