Back-to-back presidential debates took place on the same stage Saturday night, but they might as well have been on different planets.

Say, Venus and Mars.

On war and peace, on taxes and health care and the environment, Republican and Democratic White House hopefuls offered very different prescriptions for the country’s problems — and sometimes didn’t even agree on what those problems are.

... it’s clear that the parties, as represented by their potential nominees, still exist in the red-blue divide that has shaped the decade.

the divide is easily explained.............

the conservatives (repubs) still believe that we
are a Democratic Republic and that the PEOPLE
hold the TRUE POWER.

on the other hand,

the Socialists (dems) are on a crusade to create
the United Socialists States of America and THEY
BELIEVE that THE GOVERNMENT IS THE TRUE
SAVIOR AND MUST HAVE ALL THE POWER .............
and money................. and fame...........and glory.....
and..............sigh............................

worlds apart? yeah........................and I pray that
God will intervene if it is HIS will...........

Republicans/conservatives believe in freedom.

Democrats/liberals believe in force (note how many times they use the word "mandate").

As a measure of how the terrain of the debate in each party’s presidential contest is different, Republicans were asked about immigration — and responded largely in terms of who would be toughest. The moderator for both events, ABC News anchor Charles Gibson, didn’t even bring the subject up among the Democrats.

Hey, Charley, how come?

This is why I think the GOP should be proactive and set the agenda for the debates in the prez campaign. The past debate system is stupid. I'd like to see debates focus on only two issues each time. This BS of a minute or two on several different questions accomplishes nothing!

And in typical fashion; CNN played the day old 'Rat debate in the identical time slot as to give the 'Rats fair airtime. That in itself shows that Libs and the GOP are worlds apart!
