I went to the "edit" page and went through the steps
to select the "cross" option for my avatar and BINGO !

nuttin...................JUSTDARNPLAIN.........nut tin...!!!!

yeah, I know, IRANIDIOT ! but hey, in my own defense
do I not openly admit that.................

the image I was after is the one given as a "generic" image
on the edit avatar page under religious avatars. they have
cross, dove, Jesus............I selected the cross and clicked
save changes but nothing happens.........not sure how to
put it here..............sigh.......................

so, from what I can gather, the avatar's listed on the
edit avatar page under the "general" category do not
work here? ya know, the various categories that are
there to choose from..........these don't work here?

Oh I didn't know anyone had added images to choose from here. That is an option but I never added them. It seems like someone did and perhaps when we lost a bunch of images because we were hacked. they were not replaced because I didn't know they were there.
Who ever did, if you still have them your need to put them back.

You can upload a small image from your desktop. Just find one you like, save it to your computer and upload it in your user cp the same place you tried to add the other.

this is off my 'puter, but, what I really, really
wanted was the "CROSS" avatar from the
list on the edit avatar page.................So right click on it, save it to your hard drive and then upload it as your avatar.

The board's default avatars have apparently been lost, or the directory was changed. I went to the Admin CP's Avatar Manager to see what preloaded avatars are available. Nothing shows up.

There aren't any "default avatars" with VB. And if there were I am sure a cross wouldn't be one of them considering they have a wide market including some shall we say "unholy" sites. :huh:

Someone must have added them at one point in time. You have the option to add an avatar gallery but none are included with the software. I didn't add them, and I don't know who did. Might be an old Admin that is no longer with us.
