Recently I did some alterantions on my PC and had to Uninstall some programs, including my GOOGLE Taskbar ( I know...the owners are lefties but it's still a good search engine).

Anywho, I went to reinstall the Taskbar and got a prompt with a click box: Help us improve this software by allowing us to collect anonymous usage statistics

Unless U click it, you can't install the taskbar. I don't recall seeing this when I first installed GOOGLE's T-Bar a long time ago. I'm like "I DON'T THINK SO!"

What B.S. ! You can't even opt out. :flame:

You don't need the toolbar to use the search engine, and it uses up system resources anyway. Do without it.

Oh I know. I just found it invasive. In essence they want to monitor where I go on the web.

This is why I refuse to install any kind of toolbar on my browser. When I looked at Yahoo's, and another toolbar, can't remember which search engine it used, they all had similar verbiage.

Same for me. I don't use any toolbars. Just something else to slow my computer down. And I use Google many times a day.

I use Scroogle (http://scroogle.org/).
